Did a take away for lunch. The food was pretty good, I tried the workout with extra meat steak. The steak was surprisingly pretty good and tasty. My wife took chicken curry which was actually better than mine. It had a peanut sauce base which was really flavorful. So I would recommend that. My friend took the garden box which was okay as well.
Located next to Mountain View station. Helpful staff, easy to choose from menu. The box was delicious, only didn’t like to chicken part that they used. Nice outside seating area.
Good fresh food, with bowls you can easily customize to your taste! Quick service, polite staff, warm food, and good flavors! I feel like quantity can be more for the price!
Pretty good place for a quick meal. I always get the rice noodles with beef and tamarind sauce. It never disappoints.
EDIT: I have eaten here since this incident and the food has been perfect each time. I will keep this review up for posterity but I would recommend it to anyone looking for high quality gluten free dining. I will continue eating here. <Have eaten here many many times with no problems, however this last time we found the pork in a Miss Jones completely raw in our to-go order. Again this is the first time we’ve had an issue, otherwise food is good. However this is unsafe and needs to be addressed.>
Really great food here for actually a pretty reasonable price considering it's downtown Mountain View. I really enjoyed the selection of box specials that they have on the menu, the quality of the ingredients, and the speed of the service. You can of course customize your own meal but I like how they put their specials together. You order at the counter no Apple pay yet unfortunately and from there there's open seating indoor and outdoor. They have a great selection of sauces and seasonings that you can add to your bowl, but I would recommend you're careful with the hot sauce cause it's actually pretty hot. I normally like a good bit of spice and I can deal with a good amount of spice and this was a little over my threshold so I had to pace myself through the meal. But great place! I would definitely recommend a visit.
It was a pleasant surprise finding a completely gluten free Asian restaurant. I haven't had a banh mi in years, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity. The gluten free bread they use was really tasty, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, almost like a baguette. The fillings were good, and they are accommodating when it comes to other allergies egg in my case.
As a person with celiac disease, or the practical equivalent of an extreme gluten allergy, this place is a true godsend! I spoke to a regional manager on the phone to confirm that it is a dedicated gluten-free establishment, and she not only confirmed that for me, but also told me that I need to try their gooey chocolate chip cookies! In general, I’ve really enjoyed their healthy offerings, like various rice, veggie, and protein combo boxes. I eat Asian Box frequently with my family, who CAN eat gluten, and even though it’s all gluten free, my family has never complained of a lack of flavor or normal textures. It’s good for everyone, in all of the ways.
quick, simple, reasonably priced! my go-to healthier spot in the Castro after workout--ordering ahead is convenient.
They have couple of vegan box options, or you can make your own a-la-carte.
