My initial visit with Aspen dental for a check up as lovely. Booked a cleaning and it was awful. It was definitely one of the most awful and painful cleanings I have ever had. I waited almost 20 minutes after my appointment time before I was able to go back there. Then the dental hygienist, who seemed very young and I wouldn't be surprised if she's fresh out of school, was very rough. So rough that at one point she clearly used the poker and got my gum bad and I screamed OUCH, she just stared at me. Then when it was time to floss, the floss she used wasn't waxed, so she had a hard time flossing my teeth and was very vocal on how awful this was for her saying things like "Jeez, Oh wow, how do you floss like this". I told her I never had a problem with flossing it was because her floss wasn't waxed. Unfortunately, they are the few offices that take my insurance so I will have to go back to them. But I would advise others to look elsewhere if they can. This dental hygienist is awful.
I would not recommend going to Aspen Dental. Went in for a free new patient exam, which unlike a typical dental appointment does not include a cleaning. I got a strange "video scan" of my teeth and then a dental hygienist came in and explained why I needed an "mod scaling and root planing" procedure because of severe gingivitis. The dentist came in for a typical check, and then they sent me to a billing person who explained that this extra procedure is not covered by insurance and will be several hundred dollars, but I need to have it done before getting a cleaning. I was skeptical as I haven't had any issues with my gums or teeth before, and am quite young to have severe gingivitis, so sought out a second opinion at another dental office where they said there was nothing wrong with my teeth, and when there are signs of gingivitis if anything they would just ask me to come in for a cleaning more often, which would be covered by insurance. Scaling and root planing is an intensive procedure and I believe this dental office is over prescribing this as a way of making money. There were also tons of add ons that weren't covered by insurance that they were going to require for me if I were to return. All of this before getting a routine cleaning. If you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars out of pocket for unnecessary procedures I would avoid this practice.
Should NOT be listed as an "emergency dentist" I had never been to this office before. They were listed on Google and on their website as an emergency dentist, so I called and made an appointment because of severe tooth pain. I told them before I even went into the office that I needed a wisdom tooth pulled, and they said they could do it. I got there, and they said they needed to do a do a full exam.... after poking and prodding for over an hour, I was told that "they don't pull teeth, I'd have to come back and see an oral surgeon who only comes in once a month." I had asked multiple times throughout the appointment if they could just pull the tooth. They kept dismissing my concerns and talking about other issues I have with my teeth - none of which were causing pain. By the time they were done, it was too late for me to be seen by a real emergency dentist, so I was still left with severe pain.
Consistently great service and friendly staff. Very happy with the end result. I love my smile thanks to Aspen Dental!!!
After just three successful visits, my dentures were ready and fit perfectly. Many thanks to the team that helped me with this issue: Dr. Chang, Dr. Marino, Megan, Danuta, and two others whose names I did not get. My apologies to both of them.
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. they offer financing then miraculously your financing has been revoked or there's a problem charging it HOWEVER when you call financing they have no clue what you're talking about. They told my friend the financing company cancelled his account & so he'd need to pay 1300$ right then for an appt he'd been waiting months for because the specialist visits once a month & they kept cancelling his appointment and three times I've gone in to charge my remaining balance to the financing & have been told the charge isn't going through so I need to pay cash. The finance company told my friend that it was false his account was cancelled & told me it is false that my account couldn't be charged. I even showed my account to reception to show the account is in good standing & had plenty of available balance they "called" them & said they couldn't get through but when I called I got through right away. The same day I was there doing this, they told an elderly gentleman his financing account had also been cancelled & would need to pay up front. They also charge all your visits to financing up front & their billing sheets are a mess so you can't tell if you're actually paying the right amount. They tried to tell me I needed a root canal for my capped tooth because I was experiencing pain when really the crown was broken & just needed to be replaced. I also have never once gotten an appt card with the correct date and time on it when booking my visit. Not once. Probly so they can charge you the no show fee when you don't arrive on the right day. It's no wonder there was a class action suit against them recently for false advertising & bait and switch. Stay away!!!
Everyone with the exception of the person who handles the financial part of your treatment plan . She was abrupt and rude, down right Unpleasant. Too bad. I use to do a job like hers so I know what's involved.
Love Aspen Dental in general! Used to go to Brockton when I lived there - now it’s North Quincy. North Quincy’s Dentist M makes you feel like she’s your best friend. Doesn’t make you feel like she’s your typical “scary” dentist. Actually like going to the dentist for once in my life. Also love their financing program. Claudia is amazing with billing - and did her best to figure out the cheapest option for me with insurance and everything. I’m embarrassed to say I need a lot of work done but having gone to them in the past- the outcome is amazing. Got a couple root canals there and they were great! Have to get wisdom teeth out next week - and I am sure they’ll do the best they can. 10/10 recommend. I will keep going to you guys for years to come. Thank you to the whole team for all you guys do !
