My son and I have our primary doctor here and are very happy so far with the care. It's thorough and fast for emergencies as well also you don't wait long when you have appointment. The staff is very Pleasant and professional. I believe they no longer have Urgent Care but as long their doctors are on your insurance it hasn't made a difference for me I've gone many times myself and my son and never seen any evidence that the place is dirty. If your planning a walk-in you probably should go first thing in the morning before it gets too busy.
They are very welcoming and understanding of your situation. The staff made me feel very welcomed and the doctor was very friendly to me. After hours of waiting in the emergency room and being treated poorly, I honestly felt happy and relieved to see that I didn't have to wait long and that the doctor was compassionate enough to explain everything to me. This is a very great urgent care! I would likely recommend it to friends!
The lady at the front desk was very friendly and very helpful. I'm from out of town and out of my insurance service area, but she was super chill and happy to help me figure out what needed to be done with regards to my insurance. I went in as a walk in on a Saturday and was seen very quickly. The facility is clean and a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. My one complaint would be that the doctor prescribed me allergy medication for what turned out to be bronchitis. I liked that there was a follow-up call, but it was a little too soon for me to realize I'd been misdiagnosed.
Overall, the experience was decent. It took about 30-40 minutes to get processed since I was a new patient. I can understand that there are additional steps, but 40 minutes of entering information into a system? Didn't seem efficient. The doctor came in quick, did her thing, and left. She gave me her thoughts and went about her business. The relationship here seemed very transactional and business like as opposed to a patient/doctor type of setting you would expect - I don't necessarily mind this this since I was looking to get in and out but I wanted to include it as part of my review. I would recommend this place if you need 'urgent' care. I'm curious to see what my bill will be.
I initially went to Astra in Bayonne for blood work to get titers done for my job. The staff were very accommodating despite the long wait. Both the medical assistant and physician assistant seem to be very friendly, thorough, and sensitive to my needs. When I came back to receive the results of my blood test, I found that they had not done the specific test that I needed. There is also they had done were not Explain to me in a way that I could understand. I’m very disappointed in the service that I received from this urgent care. I wish I could recommend it for future patients but I have to say they must be too busy to truly provide thorough, patient centered care.
Horrible experience. Woke up feeling terrible and no voice. I get there before 8 a.m. to be first in, well I was also first out. I'm a student and had my insurance ID card, but according to the very rude receptionist, and I quote "the card doesn't have where to send the claims, we will not be able to get paid." I was ready to get as ignorant as she is, but I know better, I tell her there's a phone number where she can call and verify benefits and all info.and there is a website hello!! she said I HAD TO CALL! well I would of loved to if I had a voice!!! well I walked out of there an went next door, just steps away to Riverside Med. Group located at 544 Broadway. Now this place knows how to treat patients, not only did they take me in as a walk-in, they took my insurance and called to verify all they needed. I think the reason Urgent Care upset me so much is that I used to be a receptionist at an out-patient facility, and guess what? I called all patients' insurances and obtained all info. needed for services. Well Urgent Care lost a private insured patient and Riverside gained a faithful patient I love their staff, very friendly and helpful NOT LIKE URGENT CARE!!
I was a frequent visitor of the Bayonne, NJ location - however, I brought my Mother to this location for the second time this year and the experience we had was incredibly appalling. My mother had a cyst removed from her scalp two days prior, and her face was beginning to swell. We showed up at 7:30PM on Friday, and the woman would not let us in the door. She said they had new hours posted and were closing. Meanwhile, the website AND phone menu both list the wrong hours still - website states 8PM closing, and phone menu states 8:30PM. Regardless, my Mother's face is swelling and we wanted a medical professional to take a look and see if they think it's due to infection. This woman refused to let us in the door, and told us her "Director" wouldn't even come to the door to see or speak to us because they were closing. She then said it was because they didn't have her "Medical records", which is not true because she has been to this location before. I left a voicemail with this complaint asking for someone to call me back the following morning and have yet to hear from anyone. As medical professionals, your staff should be ashamed of themselves for how they handled this situation. I plan to write about it on every social media place possible, and you've just lost a loyal customer. Disturbing and disappointed.
I went in on a Sunday almost at closing time and their staff was very efficient and pleasant! The doctor was very knowledgable and comforting! Really like how professional they are and how clean and neat their office is! Would definitely recommend them. Oh, and they even called me today to see how I was doing. That is awesome
Courteous, Professional Service. Look, it's an urgent care facility so you know walking in there is going to be triage situations, and may be some waiting. That said, wait times were reasonable and the care I received was thorough and professional. I will return to Astra again for myself and my family. Dr. Cheung is great. On point and very interested in my well being.
Wonderful experience from start to finish. I called for an urgent appointment late on a Friday night. Person who answered my call was kind, professional, and gave me an appointment right away for that same night. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by Dawn at the front desk. She was very kind and explained each step of the new patient processes. I was given an iPad to input my new patient information that was very easy to use and didn’t take long at all to complete. I was taken back at exactly my appointment time by Rose the MA who provided outstanding care and professionalism while taking my medical history. Rose truly went above and beyond to listen to my symptoms, ensure she was documenting everything properly, and to make me feel more comfortable. I was then see by Dr. G, who was very thorough in her examination, took her time to listen to my issues and concerns, and was able to help me resolve my issue. This was my first time here as a patient, but my husband has been here several times. He too came as an urgent care patient and we were blown away by the level of patient care and excellence this office has to offer. My husband struggles with getting blood work done and when he came to the office one Saturday morning to have blood work I know he was dreading it. Lynette, who we later found out was the office manager, was coving for blood draws that day and let me tell you how incredible this woman was to us. As soon as Lynette called him back we explained that blood draws are an issue for him and asked if may I accompany him and could he possibly lay down while having the blood drawn. Lynette was so kind and compassionate, and without skipping a beat led us right back to an exam room instead of the blood draw chair, got my husband all set up laying down, and before drawing his blood helped talk him down and make him more comfortable. Also, her skill in drawing blood should not be overlooked in this as she was able to get him in one stick all while talking to him and ACTUALLY MAKING HIM LAUGH. I couldn’t believe it. She was such a blessing that day and when we left my husband told her that was the best blood work experience he has ever had. I cannot say enough about how great this entire office is. Each area, the waiting room, the exam room, and even the bathroom were extremely clean, neat, and well kept. My husband has made this office his primary care doctor office and I now plan to do the same.
