Finally got here. Not a five star restaurant, but the food is five star. Or better. Really, really good. This is a Detroit gem. Wishing you nothing but success astyFood: 5/5
My wife took me here. I met Mr. Asty and he was just so wonderful. He made me feel like family. I love the rice and beans, ripe and green plantains fried. The spicy creole shrimp was on point. I'm from the islands and the atmosphere was warm and friends just like being home. Definitely going back. Thanks, Mark

The best place to eat Dominican Food, am puertorrican and the Mofongo for here it’s the best! And the service it’s amazing.
The food at Asty Time is excellent. I’ve been here more than a handful of times and I have never been disappointed. Honestly I’m lazy when it comes to writing reviews but I just felt compelled to share this with other fellow food lovers. Here are some dishes I’ve had: chicaharron with rice and beans had this yesterday for the third time- my go to meal, mofongo mashed plantain-Google the dish as it is one of my all time favorite dishes, maduros, and of course chicken. The Sancocho soup is perfect and if you have it with white rice you will fall asleep with a smile that same night . Seriously folks the food is great and the owners are very nice and the cuisine is authentic of course I’ve visited DR many times to know this and my wife is from DR who also agrees with me about Asty. Oh and the prices are more than reasonable… if it ever has a bar I’ll be there every week to watch sports to enjoy the food, the vibes, and the atmosphere. Hopefully you will visit Asty sometime and be as satisfied as I am. Enjoy!
I'm Dominican American from NY and I missed the Dominican food from over there. When I moved here in Michigan it was hard to find good authentic Dominican food. This restaurant ended all my cravings. They made me feel like I'm back home in NY. I really recommend this restaurant if you want to try something different.
First time having Dominican food and I recommend it highly to anyone!! It has a very calm atmosphere, good music, clean and great service. The food was made with love and every bite was a treat. Glad to see such a place ran with passion! The chef was especially friendly and great. This is a must go!
love the food. love the customer service. this was my first time here and first time trying Dominican food. i had the spicy shrimp with a sample of stew chicken and plantains. sooooo delicious! got a tip from the kitchen to try the combo of tostones, rice, and beans — amazing flavor and textures! i will definitely be back to visit my new Dominican familia!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! : All the reviews are right!!! Friendly family staff, clean atmosphere, clean bathrooms. The greens were fresh, tasty healthy fresh food. The plate presentation is beautiful. The chef came out to greet us and make sure we were enjoying everything. #MADEWITHLOVE
Vegan reviewer Absolutely loved this place! Felt like I was in the Dominican. They have two different choices for beans and rice - both are delicious and vegan d come with a small salad. You can have the fried plantains salty or the mashed plantains sweet as well. Not a huge menu, but they have mastered these classic national dishes. Loved the music and the atmosphere. Excellent service in both English and Español. I highly recommend this place and will certainly come here as often as I can.
