Awesome service and authentic food! Great beer selection as well. Cute spot for a date night, albeit a bit loud from the chattering of other guests. Wasn't surprise the pace was packed on a weeknight dinner service since the food here is phenomenal. The waitress was very helpful and informative with explaining the menu and drinks.
Aux Epices feels like a neighborhood joint. It's tiny, but the setting still feels intimate. The owners are a Malaysian and French couple. If you're looking for 100% authentic versions of Malaysian dishes you're already familiar with, then you might be disappointed here. But if you consider it Malaysian with a French twist, you'll be happy. I was more impressed with the specials than the noodle dishes. Service is friendly, and you'll likely see some regulars. Prices are on the higher end for Chinatown. Cash only.
If you appreciate good food, you are going to love this place. It is a perfect fusion food restaurant. The crispy quail is a must try. They have great wine collection. Ambience is nice, music is good. Overall, they have won my heart. Only drawback is lack of space, wait time can be long. But, even then, it is worth it.
How charming!! It's a cozy spot off Canal serving Malaysian cuisine and also French beer. Service was great- has a family sensibility and I felt like they just wanted us to be comfortable and enjoy the food. Everything we had was amazing!
This is our favorite eatery in Chinatown / Little Italy area. Homemade Malaysian/French dishes from appetizers to desserts - love the crispy duck rolls, Chichen Satay, and daily French tart Yum Yum
Lovely little quaint restaurant with gracious service. The fettuccine noir almost made me eat the plate. I will definitely be back sooner rather than later. The lemonade was so tasty.
The food is just so so. Not good as Asian cuisine, not enough to be French. Squid ink pasta ? had too much tomato sauce to taste the seafood flavor. Not sure what they are aiming here.
Came here on a wintry afternoon for some comfort food. The fish dumplings were an unusual delight and the seafood laksa was well made and flavorful! Warm and comforting!
French malaysian american fusion, an unexpected but lovely mix of culinary cultures located on the edge of Chinatown. Give it a try, it's not even that expensive!
Amazing laksa penang just like ones I get back in Malaysia! Hats off to the chef who's from Terengganu, Malaysia. Ask for extra shrimp paste. They don't accept cards but you can venmo them!
