Staff was very good and caring - so important in this setting. I appreciated the care and support from everyone, from the CNA’s to the nurses and especially the physical and occupational therapists. They got me started on the road to recovery, and I’m so thankful for what they’ve done.
I am a caregiver for a client who spent nearly a month at The Avamere, and they were wonderful with her. They offered her many accommodations to ensure her comfort and ease. I felt like she was in great hands, and when I stopped by to visit, it was definitely confirmed. I recommend the Avamere, especially for anyone with Intellectual or Developmental disabilities. The staff are extremely kind, patient, and willing to go above and beyond for the comfort of their patients.
The team of staff truly has heart. Has changed a lot recently in a very positive way.
Day shift isn't bad but night shift is awful. They don't listen or care about the patient. They aren't very professional nor do they keep up on sanitation, notes, and especially pain management. Don't come here if you can help it.
My mother was in rehab for almost a month. We found the staff & the Aministrator, Marcus, to be very caring & efficient. My mother's care was excellent. Laurie in admitting was very helpful & Jose not only cleaned the room but cheered us both up. The food was good & help in the dining room was excellent. This was my mother's second visit & we will return if necessary
I should have written this review years ago, but my father died at this facility in 2009. The day of his death, his lungs started filling with fluid and I asked the staff if they could remove the fluid and make him more comfortable as he was having difficulty breathing. It took a while for someone to find equipment to do this and when they finally did, no one knew exactly how to use it. As soon as he passed away later, an Asian women looked at my mother and asked her what she wants them to do with the body. I should have hit her. I would never recommend this facility
I work in transport. I hear a lot from patients regarding the facility they live in. This place is without a doubt a complete dump even with the huge amounts of renovations done. They should’ve used the money to hire more staff. I always have trouble finding someone to help us transfer our patients and just today I was there and the staff was standing around doing nothing and just walked off the moment we showed up to pick someone up. This place has some pretty crappy staff and they should probably consider replacing about 90% of said staff.
Let me start by saying it would be really really hard for any nursing home to get 5 stars...It is just the nature of their business. I do feel that this facility does a lot for the resources they have. We have been very pleased with the staff, especially Mikey, and the CNA team that cares for my mother Mrs Joyce Wilson. I can recommend this facility.
Had unfortunate experience of being sent there post-cancer surgery end of 2015. Dreadful experience - filthy room, never got meds/food feeding tubeon time. Even changed own bandages when puss smell overwhelming. Checked out early even though snotty office gal said she would make sure my insurance wouldn't pay! Nasty bunch of people more concerned with in-house "Peyton Place" trysts. Pretty rampant there at that time - probably why nobody got meds on time - not just pain - diabetics, heart patients etc. My room was across from main desk - impossible to sleep due to LINES of people complaining at all hrs. Do NOT send your loved one there please.
I was hired in February was oriented 2 shift morning the 3rd shift state board was in the building was short of staff and they give me section to take care of residents ,never see them in my life I don't have no log in or access to they care plan . I was in a pay roll offices Shelli was very rude and disrespectful I didn't even finish the conversation and she told me to leave the office . I have to involve the administrator and the DNS to get my paystub . You don't get enough help from CNA some they hide in a rooms or refused to help you saying is not your partner. . I worked from 1400 to 2100 no break no lunch working double 16 hours and I got written up by RN for neglect.
