A nice old school Italian restaurant.  Whiffs of garlic as you enter. Friendly attentive staff. Nice bar with a wide selection of liquor, beer, and wine.Good, abundant, and reasonably priced food. Avantis doesn't offer high end fare, but sometimes the absence of pretense is preferable.

Only have had dessert and drinks here, but love the place! Staff is fabulous, bartenders are master's at their craft and the desserts are delicious. Highly recommended!

Poor service. Location of Handicap ramp not posted on front door. Lasagna was burnt.
Blue gill fish was great.

I've been here twice in the last few months and have enjoyed both trips.  Once getting their lasagna and the other a chicken parm with half marinara half alfredo which I enjoyed.  Was never able to finish entire meal as portions were huge!

Pleasant atmosphere and you could tell the staff are focused on great customer service. I've eaten here twice and the food quality was above average, but I have to admit the crab cakes were not to my liking, overly bready and greasy, but I am spoiled by making my own crab cakes that are significantly better in my opinion, but I appreciate that others might feel otherwise.
