Avenue 24 Laundry

I’ve used their services about 3 times now. I don’t care too much about my clothes, if something goes missing it’s whatever, which has happened here with all three times I’ve used their service. On top of that, it seems they just dry everything on high heat. My jeans are now tight fitting and too short for me. My shirts are all too small. They’ve shrunk practically all of my clothes including my underwear. To add to the list, I’m not sure what kind of detergent or chemicals they use when washing the clothes but the last two times have given me contact dermatitis. For those that don’t know what that means, it means my skin has been breaking out into rashes with itchy welts. And finally, there are consistent bleach stains and detergent stains on my whites and other colored clothes. For anyone asking, well why go back 2 more times? I thought I was cutting them some slack. Maybe they had an off day or they messed up a bit. But three times is enough. This is no longer a mistake. Save your clothes and go somewhere else. I say this as I’m scratching the **** out of my body.

Like the place a lot. As I do not have a daycare for my one year old, I always have to bring him to do my our laundry. Noone has ever complained about us or him crawling around. I am very happy that they are so understanding. It's not easy to find a place like this. Also it's a very clean laundromat.

Too much of the laundromat is taken up with outgoing service. Dryers are clean but don't dry that well. The people working there are helpful but some of the customers are lowlifes.

Staff is friendly and attentive, premise is always very clean and well sorted. I have never once since a machine out of order in 2 years, and I do laundry at least once a week. Well stocked with supplies should you forget yours which I do often. Wi-fi is fast enough, bathroom is clean, and they can generally turn around drop offs within a few hours. Highly recommended.

Let's talk numbers. There are twice as many washers as there are dryers. It takes twice as long to dry clothes as it does to wash them. This place is built wrong by 4x. Be there on a Tuesday when they first open or be prepared to wait an hour with a basket full of wet clothes with customers glaring at you. Nearly unusable.

This place loses clothes every wash. They might be stealing it or just dont care. Each time, clothes came up missing and the entire staff although polite, refuses to do anything about it or offer refund. If you look through reviews, many people have reported clothes missing or stolen from this laundromat. They are also the most expensive in the area and always very crowded even during COVID.

Nice workers. Decent prices. Too many people using powdered bleach. Plus it's Covid time still. Yet they still take people's laundry out of the machines. Give them 5 minutes. People are working and schooling from home. It does not mean that they are going to leave stuff for an extra 20 minutes. But they should be able to get 5-10,bedore you risk touching their stuff. Not 1 or 2 minutes, like they do now.

Today in the morning when the laundry open I went to clean my clothes and one customer come to me soo mad and was rude and aggressive and told me put your laundry bags on the floor don't put it in the laundry car and you must be respect the other customers and he insulted me front of other customers,I don't know why he attacked me since all my clothes were in the bags, I didn't even have time to open them to put in the washing machine, the staff are very friendly, and kind the laundry is very clean

Finally a place that’s open at 7 am. I went to every nearby laundromat waiting to be open at 8 wasting my time. Happy I came across this one. It’s spacious and more laundry choices. The washers/dryers are also brand new compared to the other places that I visited.

This is probably the cleanest and best laundrymat in Astoria. Spacious with lots of light. The machines run well and there's free wifi as well. I've been using their drop-off service lately and if you drop off in the morning, you can get it back that night for something like 90 cents a lb, washed, dried and neatly folded. Staff is very courteous and friendly. Highly recommended.
