Avid Bookshop on Prince Ave.

Avid feels like a home away from home in Athens. warm and welcoming. Between attending events and participating in various book clubs, everyone at Avid truly feels like a part of my extended Athens family. I love how everyone is prepared to make recommendations and takes an effort to know me and my reading preferences. They are truly a gem in Athens!

If you're into supporting local businesses that have large impacts on their communities, you'll definitely want to be a patron of Avid Bookshop. They know me by name & always are willing to order and find books for me. My roommate & I chose our apartment location based on our ability to walk quickly to both of the shops in Athens. Check out their website for more info on their events that are held weekly. Avid partners with so many community organizations in Athens to assist in amplifying message, as well as hosting joint events. They have several book clubs to participate in, as well.

I love Avid! They have such a great selection of not only books, but so much more! Sometimes they have really cool literary candles and magnets etc. Also, they have a great selection of items for women's empowerment/feminists! Love this place

This cute little bookstore was a heart warming welcome for my first visit to Athens! Staff is super friendly and went out of their way to help me find anything I might need, and gave me some recommendations of places to go in the area (I tried the hot chocolate at Condor Chocolates that night and it was terrific!) The selection is smaller but well organized, and you can tell they intentionally choose high quality books to keep on their shelves. Lots of lovely updated editions on older books as well!

Small independent bookstore that will order whatever you want if they don't have it in stock. In addition to books they carry a great selection of cards and unique, hand crafted gifts, such as wooden teethers from local artists. Can't miss stop in Athens!
