The unit itself is decent! There is a high amount of crime as long as you keep to yourself and don't engage in it you'll be fine. management seems to miss communicate a lot about rent and fees! The parking is horrible they did tow my car the first night I moved in which has never happened at any other apartment I lived. And you don't get your own designated spot. The gym is nice the pool is open often times there are people drinking At the pool which is not appropriate. Management is rude And only care about collecting money.
I’m not mad at the maintenance man. He does his job every time I’ve had issues. The issue I DO have is the LONG wait to get things done. Had a blown light bulb in my kitchen, put a request in, took about a week to fix. The reason it took so long? The bulbs were on back order. Recently my toilet handle broke, and it took almost 2 weeks for them to come in and replace it. When I first moved in, there were a few things that were left undone. I put in a request on day one of moving in, and it took almost a week to get that done. Heaven forbid I have a real emergency. My AC goes out, I’ll be sweating! Plumbing breaks, I’ll need a canoe to get around my apartment waiting for them to come by! Aside from that, I really have no other issues. Front office staff is great, the gym is decent, the poolwhenever it’s open is nice, and the area is close to everything. The place seems like it’s bad, but I’ve no issues here. The parking is a joke, but again, no real issues.
Please do not live here!! We put a request to get a parking space when we moved in 10 months ago and still have heard no word. The office is never open when they say it is. We had to go almost a full week with no heating during an extremely cold week because of the lack of response from maintenance. This is the worst place I’ve ever lived and I would not recommend! The fact that all these people are leaving negative reviews and the response from the owners are almost identical each time. It’s clear there isn’t much priority in pleasing the tenants and fixing problems. Horrible! The area is constantly littered with garbage. Someone lit off fireworks in the parking lot, which were exploding right by our apartment, sparks flying onto our windows. I feel completely unsafe!
The crime rate is ridiculous, they towed our vehicle when we had a sticker and had requested another for our 2 vehicles. Maintenance requests get done whenever it's convenient for them. The outside of the apartments are not taken care of whatsoever. It looks like a dump when you walk around outside the apartments. They respond to these negative reviews saying "they take this very seriously" as a copy and paste response. This place is an absolute joke. Do not bring kids here or live here if you can avoid it. On top of it all the staff at the office are so rude and stand-offish
Working with Avida apartments was one of the poorest experiences I've ever had with apartment management. We started working through Victoria who was really kind and very helpful. We really appreciated her consistently trying to work with us. Unfortunately, we had the displeasure of working with Kayla for a couple of days which was incredibly frustrating. My husband was starting a job for a company, so Avida requested a hire letter for income verification. Kayla claimed that the company's legitimacy could not be proven, so we requested my husband's employer call to clear things up. During that call, Kayla interrogated my husband's employer and for some reason didn't believe he worked for a real business despite various evidences provided. She also leaked our personal information to his employer, telling them that it wouldn't matter either way because with the wage my husband was going to earn it wouldn't be enough income for us to qualify. Not only is that unprofessional, it's illegal. She was consistently rude and unhelpful on the phone when we could even get a hold of her. I left numerous messages and phone calls trying to reach her with no response for 2 days. She also let me know how inconvenient it was for her to answer me and how irritating it was that I continued to call because she was apparently in a class instead of working. Overall, this was too frustrating and not worth it. I'm not happy, my husband is not happy, and my husband's employer is not happy.
DO NOT MOVE HERE. I’m a current resident and this place is terrible. They only give out 1 parking permit per apartment. The street parking here is a joke. It is every man for himself it seems like. Even if you happen to get a parking spot it isn’t safe. My work van was broken into last night while it was parked AND LOCKED. My first night I was here my personal car was towed. Ávida has partnered up with the towing company and they severely overcharge on the fees. As well as the rent is way too high for this location. The only good thing about this place is the 24/7 gym. Assuming the key fob they give you works. The pool is always closed down, or being maintained. There are always trains passing by that shakes all the buildings. Feels like an earthquake every 15 minutes. Save yourself the stress, time, and money and DO NOT MOVE HERE.
There is never parking so if you have more than 1 car you have to park in the trax station and walk home, front desk never answers the phone, management does not resolve any issues and are rude to you like they just dont want to deal with anything, maintenance never shows up, you get charged additional 80 to 90 dollars for a lobby room with a couch and a tv. I have been here for 4 months my dish washer still smells like sewer water and im still waiting for maintenance to come "fix" it. 0/10 because 1 star is too much for this apartments.
While living here our catalytic converter was stolen and my car was towed 7 times because the office refused to give us a parking pass even though we lived and payed rent here. They said there weren’t enough parking spots for apartments but there were always empty spots… either way what genius put this place together??
Parking is the worse! We each pay for a spot and I’ve sometime have gotten home after 9:30 and can not find a single spot because people without permits park here. Also, I’ve submitted noise complaints to management since my neighbor thinks it’s ok to blast and make my floors and walls vibrate. You can hear everything including their fights. Oh and no one puts salt out when it snows or shovels or cleans the parking lot. In the summer cigarette buds are all over and there is no grass for the dogs in the dog area.
The maintenance guy super professional and fast at getting things done also keeps us informed about everything Garrett was fantastic! The parking is ridiculous no parking for guests ever as they don’t provide assigned parking for the apartments who want it and 90% of the complex won’t pay for parking so there is no parking in the set of an emergency they need to have a lot for guests or something your looking at over $300 per car that’s towed not to mention family emergency will not matter as there is never parking so you have to hope you have no emergencies that your family would need to come over or stay with your kids. It’s always dirty outside alcohol bottles everywhere, neighbors leave trash and when reporting it nothing is ever done I have had to clean it up myself.
