Story

Our practice in Avon, Indiana was founded in 1976 by Dr. Robert Sexton. He moved the practice from downtown Indianapolis to Avon in 1981. Dr. Robert McDonough joined the practice in 1989, followed by Dr. Charles Nelson in 1994, Dr. Kevin Stockton in 1996 and Dr. Gabriel Hostalet in 2005.

Our building is a state-of-the-art facility with seven surgical suites, a recovery room and three consultation rooms.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Drs. McDonough, Stockton and Hostalet manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. Drs. McDonough, Stockton and Hostalet practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our doctors also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, fractures, cysts and tumors. Our surgeons use the latest techniques and equipment and regularly attend continuing education courses to maintain currency and expertise in all areas of the specialty. They are ACLS and CPR certified and renew this training biannually.
