We came in about 1:45PM. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we came in. We were going to order the meat combo but we were told by the server that the combo is made fresh Sunday and Monday and was 24 hours old if we ordered it today Tuesday. He said we could get fresher food by ordering the beef Tibs, which we did. We also got the vegetable combo which he said was made fresh every day. The good was all very flavorful. It was simply delicious! They brought out way more than enough bread, which is rare in my experience at other Ethiopian restaurants. Service was very attentive and friendly. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The only thing I didn't like is that water is $1 a bottle and served in a glass. I like free water, but that's okay. I look forward to coming back here again!
Simply amazing. So many terrible places in the area, this is epic. And live music on Wednesday nights.
Food was amazing! Our teenagers have never eaten Ethiopian food before and they were patient and seemed eager to show them how to eat the meal. It took a while for the food to come out, but it was worth it. We all said it was the best meal we've eaten in ages. The portions are large and we left with enough food for another meal or two.
One the best Ethiopian restaurants we have been to in many cities in the US. Great food, clean interior, very nice hosts, plenty of parking space. Go there and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended!
First time experiencing Ethiopian food.... one word...... LOVED! We had the Veggie Combo and Awaze Tibs beef tips were amazing!!! The manager Tadesse and Sarah chef were friendly.... came out to check on you.... very pleasing experience! Will definitely be back!
Ok, so the food was great, service was great. However, hygiene can definitely be improved. I sat at the bar to have my meal, and during the course of about 30 min, I saw 3 rats scurrying back and forth the floor behind the bar. Not cool
So I am a big fan of ethopian meats and so each city I visit I chance to go to at least one Ethopian Resturant in each. So to rate this fairly I will compare it only to Ethopian Resturants. Service - Amazing, the owner and host gave us great service. I was even able to take the paste and spice home as a souvenier with me took it for my Rastaman friend. 5 out of 5 Price - We had the lamb and Beef which was very filling and since the meats are my favorite I found them plentiful and so great value. 5 out of 5 Food - Great Value, great tasting. Great Spice. The lamb was a bit fatty so I prefered the beef. The bread I like if its more bitter. Good portions. 5 out of 5 Decore - I been to more athenitc or decorated ethoipain restaurants so this one lacks it. Its more standard returant that offer ethopian food. Lots of ethopians dinning there but not necessary featuring an ethopian authetic decor. This is where they have room to imporve on. 3 out if 5 All in all I go again and again.
Hey now I'm John Harris. On Sunday June 12th my two good friends Dr Roy Arkin, and Alan Thigpen ate lunch at Axum Ethiopian Restaurant on Twain. This was one of the best restaurant experience and surprises. I had no idea how GOOD Ethiopian food was. Without a doubt we will be back. The restaurant staff was top notch... .
I tried the ethiopian cuisine for the first time!! I just loved the food and place !! Its simple, healthy and yumm!! Though not a great interior but the food is real good!! Loved the veggie delight and doro wot!!
Great food at an excellent price with generous portions. It is a bit of a hole in the wall so the ambiance may not be right for everyone, but the owners are very nice and the experience is authentic and familial.
