Worse Banh Mi sandwich I've ever ate. Pate had a dry texture and they use some kind of watery Mayonnaise instead of lard. And the bread was TOO hard! At least make it hard on the outside and soft on the inside, but no it's hard through and through In California, every Vietnamese sandwich shop uses lard! FYI, 7 of the 10 largest Vietnamese populated cities in America are located in California so we know how to do our sandwiches right.
Very reasonable priced banh mi and Vietnamese coffee. I believe it is Vietnamese-Chinese owned. The uncle who works there that I talked to was very nice and friendly. He could have been the owner. We got number 1 and number 8. Both were good. I have better Vietnamese coffee elsewhere but it is not easy to find great Vietnamese in NYC and it’s pretty good here. We love to support local businesses and will come back here for Banh mi and coffee again.
I’ve eaten a fair number of banh mi sandwiches across Vietnam, and at most of the decent shops in NYC…and I can confidently say that Ba Xuyen wins for the best and most authentic banh mi sandwich in all of NYC. It is very much worth the trip to Sunset Park, and is a must have if you’re in the neighborhood. The baguettes that they use for the sandwiches are just heavenly fresh and crispy - so good that they retain their freshness for the next 1-2 days so I’ll buy a few sandwiches to eat as my lunch the next day. The price can’t be beat — most sandwiches run from $6-7 each, and they are generous with portions and use fresh ingredients. I highly recommend #1 for the classic combination banh mi sandwich, and my wife loves #9 for the grilled chicken banh mi. The shop is very unassuming and the ladies preparing sandwiches behind the window are brisk but friendly, and they speak English. Tip them well and keep supporting this local gem. Businesses like these are what make NYC the greatest city to live in.
Best banh mi in New York City - without a doubt. Very local feel with a charm to it
$7 for an Authentic Bahn mi is good! Hard to find original ones like these in Queens. Too many fake barbeque ones or modern versions in NYC. This place makes the Bahn Mi simple and easy!!
Got a grilled pork and a grilled chicken sandwich. I took a few bites when it was fresh then saved it for later. The bread was amazing even after reheating. I've only been once years ago and it's still great. Also their hot milk tea's sweetness was well balanced, made with a Tetley tea bag. Will be my go to going forward. Staff can speak Cantonese. Cash only.
Had been coming to this place for many years. Their prices are unbeatable! Their #1 sandwich is what I get every time and their ice coffee. They always toast the bread to perfection, crispy the outside, soft the inside. The coffee I always get it with less sweet and more milk, they will make it perfect!Food: 5/5
Picked up Vietnamese coffee and sandwiches for 4 hour drive home. This place is open in the morning!! Sandwiches were fresh, nearly a foot long and delicious. The coffee was incomparable. This is an authentic, reasonably priced dive that should be on everyone's radar for great vietnamese food to go! It will be a standing visit for us from now on!!
Had the number 8 sandwich today..grilled pork spicy. It was outstanding. Perfect amount of sweet and hot spices. Trust me go there!
Awesome Ba. Just awesome. The tea and coconut drinks are delicious. Get some!
