Love the beginners classes. Great teachers. Also great that is drop in classes. Can really recommend
Salsa classes are great. Level adjusted for who comes, even if it’s more early beginner there’s always something interesting and new thrown in to learn teacher: Ahtoy
We took an awesome Salsa class on zoom on Valentine’s Day Organized by Ailey extension. I’m a serious ballet dancer and my husband is a total novice and we both loved it. the instructor was OUTSTANDING
Contrary to promotional material and reviews I'd read, I found this class to be one of the worst dance classes I've ever taken. One guy was quite unpleasant, with a humiliating teaching style that he should know doesn't work. I don't know how the BAILA SOCIETY can describe themselves as sophisticated - it's an amateurish mess. The room is too small for the three classes they cram into it, dividing people into three groups of beginners, intermediate and advanced the verbal guidelines were too sketchy, so new students struggled to place themselves. Each of the three teachers was vying to be heard above the loud music, and with so many noise sources the students were straining to hear and follow. A shambles - very disappointing.
Annoyed that you have to find studio space for private classes and it’s a separate charge. Skip.
Didnt really enjoy the teaching style
The teachers are very good!
I have enjoyed every single class I have taken with the teachers from Baila Society. Ahtoy is a masterful educator! They go beyond teaching just the technical steps and take time to share the culture of the dances and build community in their classes.
