The idea is good, and to the best of my knowledge, there is nothing similar in the area. However, if you think of English fish and chips, it is nothing like it. It looks like Chinese-style deep fried. And it probably is. It also comes with the most sorry coleslaw side ever made. Although it didn't meet my expectations, it was not terrible and I will be going again, because, as I said there is no competition around.
Like many reviewers said it's a good idea, but in practice? Not so much. First I want to say the fisherman's platter that I got was too salty! And this is coming from someone who loves well seasoned food. Also the seafood itself wasn't' fresh. You can tell by the smell of it. It was very fishy and lingered for several days in my car after I purchased the food. I also didn't like the fries either. They tasted like they had been refried a few times. But there are some positives. The ideas implemented in this establishment are very good I think if they tone down the salt a little and change the fries they'll be on their way to the top!
I ordered a sandwich. The sandwich, taste like the fish been sitting for a while. They don’t take time to follow directions. I said NO MAYO and they put Mayo on there. I also found a hard shell piece from a lobster in my sandwich. Not worth the price. THIS WILL BE MY LAST TIME ORDERING FROM THEM.
First time ordering today and will certainly be the last. $65 bucks wasted on two plates of seafood and some chicken wings. Chicken wings were mediocre as expected but had the salt and pepper seasoning I requested so ended up being the highlight of the meal. My husband and I also ordered the oyster plate and a fish, shrimp and clam belly plate. Both came looking half empty and the indistinguishable seafood tasted like cold, possibly reheated, corn meal fried hard. Both the quality and quantity left us very underwhelmed and hungry.
After reading some of the more recent reviews , i was hesitant to try it out my 1st time. But was in the area , also not any other options open. My haddock sandwich was decent but not certain it was haddock . Then ordered a whole porgy, for it to be not fried throughly! It smelled far from fresh. Hints of Ammonia, kinda gagged from the smell. Had to hold it bk
First time here. Fish has no taste, Onion ring sour one of them, Shrimp was good, Scallops were good. The Calamari was chewy but good, if I air fry them & it taste better tomorrow I’ll update my rating otherwise I give them a 3; because I see the potential. Another thing the cashier is NICE & PATIENT. You might think she’s rude bc she says “what” when you ask her something but it maybe a language barrier.
I made an order thru the phone. I was told 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later. When I arrived, nobody was at the register. I stood there for about 5 minutes before the cook told me the cashier left and would be back in 20 minutes. I ended up leaving and going to Pats pizza. Very unprofessional, I won't be coming back.
Dirty. Gave me a half a fish sandwich. Fish was only on one side. I returned the food they said it’s bc the fish was small…
Ordered their food on a whim and since then been ordering when ever my family and I crave for some fish. This is the only place we order fish from. There’s not any fish place besides a lot of pizza, American and Chinese restaurants in Fields Corner til Bait to Plate arrived and we just had to try out their food. We always get the fisherman plate with their veggies fried rice and of course I get their strawberry smoothie for myself because it’s really good! There was that one time the food we ordered was not cooked all the way and I’m sure it was a different cook that day but no biggie. The people who work and or own this place are nice and responded back immediately when I told the person about this problem. Other than that, my family and I enjoy their food and it’s worth trying.
Their soft shell sandwich is pretty good..but not the clam chowder. I paid $7.50 for a bowl of watered down soup. The celery was crunchy not cooked in…and there was absolutely clams in the CLAM CHOWDER. How?!? It was celery chowder. They have to do better
