Delicious Lebanese food! The food has so much flavor. The Muhalabieh dessert was delicious. Glad they didn't forget the rose water. They have other fresh goodies like baklava and pita chips.
I ordered a takeout: zaatar manakish thyme with sesame seeds with tomatoes and mint. Pretty tasty! The dough is not too thick and not too thin, just about right. I recommend you try this with labneh strained yogurt. I also sampled the sfeeha, samboosek, falafel, and spinach pie ftayer. I recommend going for the samboosek and sfeeha, with a lemon squeeze on top. They were absolutely delicious. The ftayer was ok, and while the falafel is not like the Lebanese version, it's not bad either. Finally, I tried the fattouch and grape leaves. The fattouch comes with olive oil / lemon/ molasses pomegranate dressing yummy! while the grape leaves are stuffed with rice and tomatoes. The food is excellent here, if you want real Lebanese food, this place will not disappoint.
We did a pick-up order from Balade - Your Way via Seamless and the process went smoothly. The decor is modern, bright and cozy but with limited indoor seating. The direction on the menu is clear and easy to follow: choose base, protein and additional topping if needed. We had one rice bowl and one salad with Shawarma & falafel to share between 2 people as a quick fix dinner. The food was pretty solid with reasonable price. We would recommend people who work in the neighborhood to have lunch there.
Tonight I had the grilled lamb, and some of the juicy Tawook chicken, on a bed of brown rice and salad. . . . Hummus, baba ganouj, cucumber and tomato completed my feast. . . I could have asked for all the toppings, at no extra charge. . . . It was the best! I have dined here more than 400 times! Every meal has been excellent! FIVE STARS!
Great place! Fast and healthy food for a decent price. The meat is high quality stuff. Not the gyro-like blended meat. Lots of fresh veggies. This is “chipotle-style” middle eastern food done right!Recommended dishesShawarma, Pita Wrap
Overall taste was good, however don't expect great service. Employees were not friendly and forgot 4 of my items. Falafel sandwich was good, however the falafels were falling apart. Cheese Manouche was good but was expecting the vegetables that I ordered to be added to the sandwich itself, not just placed on the side. Cheese Rakakat were pricey but generously filled they were extremely oily though and the box was also drenched in oil. Expected to receive crunchy Rakakat but instead got soggy ones.
Great chips and better lemonade.. Best customer service!!Food: 5/5
This is proper middle eastern food, prepared fresh infront of your eyes, in a hygenic manner, and it is Halal. Above everything, their food tastes absolutely amazing. Have tried all their wraps, they are authentic and very filling due to the size. Their pita chips are just irresistibly tasty, and would recommend trying all their variations. If you are a Humus, Mottable, or Babagonosh fan, then do yourself a favour and pick it from this store instead of the whole foods/grocery stores. Yes the price of their wraps will be doubled of what you get from a Halal cart in the city, but then the taste here is authentic, and not the universally consistent taste of NYC Halal Carts. Its a long shop/restaurant so they do have some seating capacity as well. Close to touristy part of times square, as well as Penn station. You can call the Super Friendly and Super Nice staff here, who can have the food ready for you, if you want to grab it before you take an Amtrak from Penn Station or hop onto a Bolt Bus both located a few minute walk away. If you have read this till here, then just go and give thisnplace a try :
The pita wrap was very good, I'd say 5 out of 5. The portion was generous and chicken shawarma stuffing was amazing. The garlic whip was also a killer. Baklava was somewhere between alright and mediocre but for the value, I'd say I may order it occasionally. Zaatar was not good, it wasn't just crispy but almost hard to chew. But the most disappointing part was the delivery which ruined the already-bad Zaatar even worse and knocked my door aggressively when I made a clear instruction for contact-free delivery. I still tipped 18%.
I ate here every day after discovering this place on a late night when I was hungry, lunch and dinner for 5 days straight, rice dish was tasty, pizzas in stone oven were delicious, my favourite was the chicken wrap and kale taboule staff are very friendly and helpful. You can eat in or takeaway. The line is out the door 12-1pm though wait is not too long as they have many staff working during lunch rush. I have recommended this place to many of my friends who travel to NYC and looking for a great middle eastern meal at a decent price loved the choice of music
