When my wife tells me we are going to Bar Academy, I count down the days in anticipation. My wife and I first went to Bar Academy 5+ years ago. Rob, the owner, was an amazing host, instructor, etc. The first class we did was a wine and chocolate. It was amazing. Since then, we have continued to go back for more wine and chocolate, wine and cheese, wine and pasta, Sangria making class and more than enough drinking, and then back again for repeats. Recently, we went for the craft beer tasting. Every event is just a great evening, and Rob is the best proprietor. Every friend we have ever brought has also loved Bar Academy and Rob. Bar Academy’s new location is bigger and more seating options. I notice that Rob fills my wife’s glass up with more alcohol than he puts in my glass, he is a great wing man!! Thanks Rob for all the fun times and looking forward to many more years.
We have been coming to Bar Academy for 5+ years and have always had the best experience. All of the tastings and classes are both informative and fun! The owner Rob is the best host/ teacher and creates such a relaxing and enjoyable environment. It is truly our happy place and everyone we take there always has an amazing time. We have done many different tastings/pairings over the years and have enjoyed every single one of them. The drink making classes are just as great and allow you to actually take turns being a bartender as well as a consumer of the specific drinks. A really special experience that we have never encountered anywhere else. We have enjoyed our time at Bar Academy so much that we have repeated the same tastings and classes multiple times! We look forward to our next Bar Academy experience!
Rob, the owner, is the BEST. He's so personable and you can tell that he loves what he does. My friends and I have been to Bar Academy 4 times now wine and cheese, wine and pasta, wine and chocolate, and tequila tasting and we already have sangria and margarita making in the works. This is our go-to friend date night. It's so fun, the atmosphere is great and Rob is so knowledgeable and meticulously chooses each pairing to ensure the flavors work well together, making delicious combinations that enhance flavors you didn't even realize. I'm so excited to see his new location and to keep coming back!
My boyfriend and I did a wine and pasta tasting for our fourth anniversary, and we had the best time! Rob is a fantastic host, equally knowledgeable and delivering great jokes. He kept us really engaged with what we were tasting while also busting our chops a little bit. We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend supporting this small business for a unique, fun night out!
If your looking for a new date night option or an awesome atmosphere to hang out with your friends Bar Academy is definitely the place to do it!! Lets start off with how amazing and friendly the owner Rob is. He is always making us laugh and never leaving a dull moment during any event. He just moved to a brand new, bigger location in Verona. There is so much more space and on site parking!!! Rob is always posting amazing bundle deals and new classes so make sure to follow his Instagram page and book your next night out with him!
I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about Bar Academy. I have taken countless classes with different groups of friends because I always want to share this enjoyable experience with as many people as possible. Rob, the owner, always goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone is having a good time and leaves no questions unanswered. Gorgeous, clean building with plenty of parking for everyone. Delicious chocolates, champagne, cheeses and even pasta dishes complement the overwhelmingly fun atmosphere of a night out on the town. I can’t WAIT to go back for more!!!!! 10 Stars!
I could go on and on ranting and raving about Bar Academy and the experiences I've had there! My friends and I have gone for wine & chocolate tasting, wine and cheese tasting, wine & pasta tasting, tequila tasting and have already planned for sangria and margarita making. Each time we go we plan our next trip back. The experience is fabulous-- Rob runs a fantastic business and is extremely knowledgeable about all the products he uses for his classes and why he pairs/chose them. He always makes it fun and super enjoyable. Will continue to go back again and again:
We attended a Bourbon Tasting for a party of 4. We had a such a great experience. My friend and I are fans of bourbon, while "our better 1/2's" were not. They had a great time as well and Rob owner had a great selection for all of us to enjoy. The atmosphere has a great vibe. The location is a win being close to restaurants in Verona. Montclair is not far as well. It makes for a great time with friends, couples, etc.. Thank you Rob for being a superb host!
My wife and I come here often. Rob the owner is funny and extremely accommodating! He offers a wide variety of events ranging from intimate tasting perfect for date night to interactive events perfect for groups. I guarantee you will not be disappointed booking an event here! Rob gives personalized attention during every event. By the way he has an instagram page where he posts deals and bundles that are great for couples on a budget!
Had a blast at the wine and pasta tasting! If you can get past all the Boston sports paraphernalia, it is such a great spot. Rob the host is very knowledgeable while also making things fun and engaging! I highly recommend a taking a class or bringing some friends for a tasting event!
