My baby’s first grooming appointment with Tatiana was a success. She was so pretty with the bows on her ears. Her hair did get matted quickly, but that’s out of their control. I’ll definitely be back for another grooming session.
Your dogs are not safe here!!! I worked at the baileys location for a year, from July 2023-July 2024, but I was also their client. I had my four dogs stay there while I was away on vacation last December. Dogs are my world, taking care of them is my passion. So it is imperative for me to write this review. I worked as a shift lead, a daycare attendant and a as a trainer in their structured daycare staff. And I am grateful that I no longer work there, and my dogs will never go back. I say your dogs are not safe here for many reasons. One of them being that there is a 25 dog to one person ratio, which is ridiculous and dangerous. 25 dogs per person is inhumane and irresponsible. And it was proven so when a former employee had a HUGE chunk of his hand bitten off by a triggered dog. A fight broke out, he tried to separate them, and he had part of his hand torn off. They were full that day, probably around 75 dogs, and not enough staff. There was hardly ever enough staff. Luckily my ex co worker did not have much damage done to his hand, but what if he lost function of his hand? I was there that day and I saw the damage. It was horrible to say the least. I almost passed out just by looking at his hand. A few months ago, as I was beginning my shift in structured daycare, one of the back gates was left open unfortunately, and a dog named Ellie ran away. She just took off and we lost sight of her. She was gone for a good 15-20 minutes and we were all in a horrible panic. I got in my car, along with another co worker who got in her car, and for some miraculous reason, I found her. I found Ellie in a neighborhood close by, thank god. But when I found out that Ellie’s owners would NOT be notified that she ran away, I was livid. Can you imagine taking your dog to daycare and they keep something like that from you? Ellie’s owners were never told that she ran away, because I found her. And because “Ellie was safe.” So to Miranda and Ryan, there was no need to tell anyone. Unprofessional doesn’t begin to describe it. They also allow dogs with awful behavioral issues to be in daycare, when they should not. And that is not only a liability to your dogs safety, but to the staff as well. They would pass dogs with high anxiety, for example, to be in daycare. And you would not believe the amount of fights and injuries dogs and humans would have due to this negligence. If I can get just one person to read this and never take their dog to Bark and Boarding, then my job here is done. I urge you: please do not take your dogs here. There are many other places you can take them to. Just not here.
Our pup Loki first met his trainers, Jess and Louis, in 2020 when we first discovered Bark + Boarding. He was a rescue who was VERY wary of new people and the B+B team has been exceptionally patient in helping Loki adapt to new people. Loki loves his Play and Train sessions and we love the progress videos and feedback shared with us after each session. We are so thankful for everything out B+B fam has done for us!
Had a great experience here! The staff was welcoming and helpful with my last minute dog grooming appointment. Anthony did a great job and I would highly recommend them!

Great place. The staff are some of the most caring, positive, dog lovers I've ever met. Our dog always comes home so happy and sleeps so well at night something we really like. They can do daycare and overnight care if you're on a trip. It's a popular place and as a dog owner my entire life I recommend this place.
We took our dog here to get groomed for several years. Our boy was very old 15 and the groomers were always SO loving and patient with him. After he passed the B&B team mailed us a card and inside of the card was the warmest message and they included things about Charley's personality & character traits that you would only know if you took the time to get to know him. Its really reassuring to know they don't rush the dogs in/out and knowing he was treated with such love. I highly recommend B&B for their grooming services! & a HUGE thank you to the entire team for treating our boy with such love over the past serval year.
My dog Minnie always has a great time at Bark + Boarding. The staff take good care of her and I love seeing the pictures of her they post online.
I started bringing my corgi Logan to Bark & Boarding in January and it has been a wonderful experience. He was quite a challenge as a puppy resource guarding, anxiety, etc but coming to daycare once a week really helped. Raising him was actually pretty hard on my mental health, and when my partner also had surprise health issues, I really needed to find some help. I appreciate that from the first time I came here, I never felt judged or like my dog’s rough edges would be an issue; they were understanding and sensitive to his needs. I was really happy and honestly shocked, due to his anxiety when I learned a few months later that he had made friends with the staff. I boarded him here for a week over the summer and was really touched and impressed that they sent me messages with pictures of Logan during his enrichment activities. It was our first time apart so that meant a lot! We have just moved out of the area, so today I picked him up from likely his last time ever at Bark & Boarding. I have to say, I won’t miss much about Alexandria, but I will miss having a place I feel 100% comfortable and confident in to take care of my pup.
I made an appointment in May for my dog to get a cut in July. So i waited 6 weeks and the morning of my appointment they canceled on me saying the groomer had a medical emergency. And then said the next appointment available is in August a month later. Its in the middle of summer and my dog has really long hair so he absolutely needs a haircut. And the staff is just like there’s nothing we can do about it which is really ridiculous especially after i tip $60-$80 !!! every time i get my dog groomed. Definitely taking my business elsewhere and would not recommended this place if you value your time.
