Providing communities superior knowledge on safety and health.
Our mission is to provide communities with a proper education on health and safety. That is why we want to share what we can do for you and your community. Our unique approach to self-defense focus on attacks against women as well as anti-bullying and anti-abduction for children. There are one to many "Amber Alerts Today." We are here to build that BARRIER for your children.
Our approach focuses on situational awareness, preparedness, and ensuring that our students are ready if a situation were to occur. BARRIER teaches simple, realistic, and effective techniques, that are proven to work in real world situations.
A traditional martial arts program like Karate or Taekwondo focuses on physical techniques that engenders the mentality that violence can only be resolved with your own application of violence. This is not true. It is through the control of situations, through awareness, behavioral, and verbal techniques to avoid violence that is the number one way to ensure your safety. BARRIER techniques emphasize control instead of damaging the assailant, giving the defender options that suit their needs in any given situation.
We believe everyone deserves the ability to defend themselves. BARRIER would like you to consider us and our unique approach as part of the services you offer, as well as join us in our mission to continue reaching out to those with this need.
We understand that you don’t always have time to learn something that isn’t always effective and you don’t have the money to waste either. After all, if you ask someone who has seen a real-life violent confrontation, they will tell you that it didn’t look or feel anything like the Karate or Taekwondo you’d learn in a class.
We will start by changing the perception of what self-defense actually is. The word “defense” indicates a situation where you may be required to perform physical actions in order to counteract an attack. We on the other hand will teach you that defense isn’t just about countering the attack; it is about being aware of the environment and knowing whether you should take an offensive stance or the opportunity to escape.
