Barroco had been on our radar for some time now and it was not a disappointing experience. One thing I want to note this is not a BYO restaurant. For some reason that is what it says on the google description. They have a bar and make AMAZING cocktails.
They have really mastered ever detail of a great restaurant... plus a functional patio when its cold outside? Doesn't get better than that. The menu's themselves were beautiful. Everything was thoughtfully described. So even if you aren't from South America you can understand what you ware ordering.
Our server Mauricio was very helpful and kind when taking orders and gave great suggestions. The pesto sauce was by far my favorite. I will definitely be going back and skipping an appetizer so I have room to try their Flan.

What I loved: the energetic environment, the ambiance, the music, the staff, and especially the food. What I didn't love: leaving!
What a cool place! It's not very large, and that added to the feel of the restaurant. Our server was super helpful (we had some questions about menu items), friendly, and efficient despite the fact that it was hopping busy. When the food arrived, it smelled incredible and tasted even better. Ingredients were clearly very fresh, seasoned and cooked perfectly.
Word of caution: they don't take reservations. We arrived at about 5:00 because we were on our way to a show in Cleveland. We got seated immediately. The restaurant filled up quickly after that and there was a line out the door by the time we left. It is absolutely worth visiting!

The food here is just delightful. They are most famous for making food pockets, called arepas, that you stuff full of meats, vegetables, and other delights and pick sauces from a wheel of homemade ones. Although the seating is cozy and it can be loud, the food and experience can make you feel like you are getting a (delicious) cultural experience.

Came here for my sister's birthday dinner. Loved the atmosphere and live music. Loved the food more. Lot of food left to try. Was a Sunday so I'm not mad it was so busy. I thought they found us room pretty fast for the group size we had. Drinks are fantastic.

Excellent food! Relaxed, casual atmosphere. The plantains are phenomenal! The house beer is a mix between a white sangria with a light fruity passion fruit beer, delicious! Come hungry, the arepas are deceivingly filling.
