Basics Plus

I love this place. I lived in the neighborhood 5 years ago and had a little mouse issue living alone and one of the guys there walked over to my apartment and set up the traps for me without question. Now I’ve moved back to the neighborhood and always looking for ways to patron their business. They have a great selection and always very friendly.

Great variety of home goods when you’re in a pinch or want an alternative to Amazon. Deducting a couple stars because the staff is hit or miss. They either are happy to help or can’t be bothered. Had a recent experience where everyone that came in with a question, the associate just said “No, we don’t have that” or “No, we’re out”. I realized after a while they were probably just brushing us off because - on a hunch - I did a little more looking and found exactly what I was looking for. I showed the person working and their demeanor changed immediately and they were much more accommodating after that.

John, thank you. Exceptional service from my initial call to the point of delivery on items. Answered all of my questions, gave me the model numbers to review online and provided the information that he had on hand as well for the two safes that I bought. Thank you John and also to Basics Plus for really taking care of me way beyond my expectations!

I love coming to this store. John and the staff here are amazing. Even if they don't have a certain item in stock he always goes out of his way to help me out; even take my contact info down to call me when the item is in stock. I appreciate having this type of store and service in my neighborhood!

Lots of home decor and supplies. Candles, storage options, cleaners and shower curtains. Nice to have in the neighborhood.

Has what you need but they’re reselling Walmart products at about a 300% mark up. Something you can buy there for $3 they’re selling here for $12. Even for the convenience it’s not worth it

DO NOT COME HERE!!!! So I bought a pan/wok two weeks ago here. The first time I used it to fry some vegetables with soy bean sauce, and after I washed it and dried it up, there is very disgusting yellow powder remained in the wok. I was really scared and returned to the store. But they told me indifferently that they couldn't do anything unless the manager is here. So I went back three times more, their manager was never there and their service was really bad. Seriously if I could I would love to stand in front of their store and tell everyone my experience. Honestly I'm very angry.

A great neighborhood hardware and home good store. Fantastic selection at reasonable prices. Shop local. Shop small business. Support this store; it is an asset to the Upper East Side.

Excellent customer service - I have an A+ experience every time. I always check here first whenever I need something around the house or to copy a key, etc.
