The Union city office staff are incompetent. My mother was approved a week and one day ago for increased in home health aid hours. I gave Bayada the authorization number from the insurance, after numerous phone calls to bayada she still does not have the hours that have been approved. I was not able to speak to speak to the department that deals with the authorizations from Bayada. The manager “Betsy” came to the phone and states the insurance sent the “clinical report wrong”. I asked for Bayada to contact the insurance, since is their business and their benefit/profit to get the correct information, “Betsy” responded they are not social workers and up to the family to call the insurance to get the amended information. I have called the insurance several times to get Bayada the correct paper work to get the home health aid hours that were already approved last week. It’s disappointing that this is their business and their profit and don’t communicate with the insurance that they deal in a daily basis. They expect the family to call insurance for them to explain something that Bayada needs that I don’t even understand. If you plan to look for an agency try to look somewhere else. Bayada in Union city New Jersey are rude and unwilling to help their members.
Where can I start to explain how awful this agency works. This agency whom I been working with alongside with my family since 1993 and I do believe is time to pull the plug and to explain in detail how awful, complicit, recklessness, and unwillingness on how this agency operates. It is, by far the worst home aide provider that serves in Hudson County. In the following paragraphs I will state some of the deficiency that I encountered as a health worker, being remote, and the lack of attention and patient care that they neglect. Communication. The lack of communication is just terrible. Just recently, my uncle was discharged from harborage palisades rehab center, while I was working with the insurance adjuster, that we made sure that BAYADA had received the authorization codes on Thursday or Friday to have enough time so that there will be an available home-aid right after discharged. The nightmare begins to unfold..my uncle who was waiting for a home-aid never showed up after 2 days, with no food, no help, no care, no AID.........he was left alone by his lonesome. According to ANA, the on call attendant or manager during after hours, she said, that there was no authorization code and that i had to call Horizon NJ to make sure about the codes. Luckily I know how to get around the systems in Horizon NJ. The case manager Horizon was shocked that the fact that the patient was alone for two days with no AID, after the fact that ANA had spoken to the case manager Horizon to have everything set up that same day only to tell me, NO. I was very proactive and called Horizon, Horizon immediately told ANA to bring AID to the patient ASAP..... It was unreal..... Communication cont. BAYADA will not reach out to family members. They continue as business as usual and if there was any adjustments to there hours, they will never get back to you. You have to call the patientfamily member to ask any questions of there well being. The majority during this time they will most likely disconnect from family members not giving any updates within regards of health or any irregularities. If you have a disabled patient who lacks motor speech or any type of impairment please pray that they are still alive. The HOME-AIDS will never reach a family member or report it to the next-of-kin because of patient confidentiality. If you are in this situation please look for another agency ASAP. According to BAYADA, there is a fine line written in there policy that it's not up to BAYADA to report it, it's the patient rights to live or die towards the condition they are in and pretty much whatever life takes them. This was stated by BETSY. STAFF. During the 22 years being with this awful company, the patient has probably been through 17 HOME-AIDS. The evidence that we have gather why is the following. 1. Some BAYADA aids come to sleep and not do their particular task for the patients. 2. BAYADA aids do not cook with willingness to help feed the patient. If there are leftovers cooked previously, simple, reheat it and feed to the patient again. Disabled patients are helpless in this manner with the little effort they can express. 3. BAYADA aids show up when they feel like it. SInce there is no time clock they come and please as they go. 4. BAYADA aids are not willing to help the patient, that is for sure. One employee stated that if they wish to help bathe, feed, or clean it's up to their liking and if its too much they can still get their hours clocked and report it back to BAYADA. THIS IS TIME THEFT!!!!! 5. BAYADA aids will NEVER communicate to their superiors about the patient health. Unfortunately, the health of my uncle was slowly deteriorating for months and BAYADA home aids, never report it to anyone. Remember BAYADA home-aids are just only to collect a check. QUALITY. The BAYADA aids are the lowest care takers in Hudson County. They are not able to determine LIFE or DEATH manner. Some of these BAYADA home aids are just poorly trained, they don't carry any BLS. If a patient has an heart attack, they will walk away like nothing.
The rudest HHA don't know how they have 5 stars maybe the other locations are excellent. But the Union City Office is the terrible. I will call corporate and advise them on how bad I was treated. If I could give them no stars I would.
