I love this place so much. As a Taiwanese I’ll say they make good wheel pies They are on the crispy side. Unfortunately taro flavors sold out, but the cream one was delicious. Not too heavy and not too sweet. The red bean one was less sweet as well. I think it’ll be great to have a flavor that combines cream and red bead! Another interesting flavor was tuna salad & cheese. It was amazing. I’m a sweet-treat person but this one caught my mind more tbh. Also, I hate celery… they did add it in the salad.. but I finished all! highly recommend this one.
Some friends had recommended me this place and I’m so glad they did. The owner was very sweet and chatted with me while she was making them. I got the matcha wheel pie and the cream with tapioca wheel pie. They’re not too sweet and when fresh off the press a little gooey on the inside. So good!
I ordered a milk mochi and a red bean wheel pie. The wheel pie took about 5 minutes but there wasn’t a line when I went. The wheel pie was fresh and slightly chewy but also crispy in a good way. The red bean wasn’t overly sweet. The milk mochi with peanut crumbs was very interesting. It was generally not overly sweet but it was a little too sweet for me. The milk mochi was super stretchy and bouncy and tasted exactly like what you would imagine eating milk to be like. The peanut topping gave the mochi a little texture and flavor. I wouldn’t get the milk mochi again it was also $8 and quite expensive for the amount you get but I’d go back for the wheel pies.
The thing that you need to know when you want to try food from this place, "Cash Only" When i came, they were extremely busy, I had to come back in hour to pick up my order. But I didn't regret it. I love the Pie and the Milk Mochi too.Food: 5/5
Authentic Taiwanese wheel cakes! These are hard to find in NYC and the US and this location is newly opened after being in Chinatown for many years. They have traditional flavors like red bean and cream but also have some sweet flavors like matcha and tapioca as well as salty flavors with radish. Prices are very reasonable at $3 for the standard fillings. It is a stall inside a bigger store but just keep walking in and you won’t miss it!
Found this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. So glad I did! The milk mochi was so good, not too sweet and with a nice chewiness. I also got the matcha and tapioca wheel pie and it was pretty good too. The shop is a small stall within a food court. It's run by this super nice lady that speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. I highly recommended everyone to support this small shop!
Wheel pies that are very similar to the food stands that sell them in Taiwan! This is the only place ive been able to find it in the US so far. These wheel pies are similar to taiyaki but have more uniform filling. My personal favorites are the cream filled and red bean but we tried the cream and taro. They make them fresh right in front of you so you have to wait a bit for them to make it but it's worth the wait!
Cute spot with incredible desserts! The woman who works here is so sweet and kind, I highly recommend. The wheel pies and milk mochi are so delicious.
Wheel cakes are a delicious street food item that is usually eaten as a sweet dessert. This little stand proves to be faithful to the beloved Taiwanese snack. They give substantial amounts of filling in each of the cakes. There are also savory options, such as tuna, mushroom, and radish fillings. The shop insists on making the wheel cakes to order, so as to provide the best wheel cake experience possible. That said, if you have a large order, call in the order first. Then go pick it up with cash in hand, and enjoy some well made snacks.
Tried the cream and taro filled wheel pie. Definitely recommend the taro one. I loved the chunks of actual taro and it was perfectly sweetened. Also purchased the milk mochi which I also enjoyed! Not sure if I can afford to eat this often as 2 wheel pies and the mochi came out to $16 but it was tasty!
