This place is absolutely amazing! Wonderful staff, wonderful owner, great fresh veggies, lots to chose from, awesome sides, delicious juice, convenient, a little pricey but definitely worth it!!! The chicken sausage is everything, and their fresh juices are really good. Definitely coming once a week as a treat for myself. If you're in the area check them out!
Wow, this was great. This was my first time to Beefsteak, and the veggies were fresh, the options numerous, and the overall result was delicious. I had some red sauce over rice with my custom selection of boiled-on-the-spot veggies. Then, there were tons of fresh veggies and other toppings like Kimchi, seaweed salad, sesame seeds, etc.. There was also a meat option, but by the time I realized how large my lunch was going to be, there was no need. I will certainly be back.
Enjoyable new spot that allows combining different veggies, proteins, grains and sauces. A good number of vegan options throughout. Want more suggestions of how to score an ace bowl depending on common tastes for 1 or 2 more stars.
If you like half cooked veggies and don't mind how much you pay this is a good place to eat. It is very conveniently located in Houston Hall on Penn's campus. But the lines during lunchtime get ridiculously long. Although they do move fairly fast. If you are unfamiliar with their system of putting together a bowl/salad then it is best to stick to something of their menu rather than try to build one yourself because as you stand their and deliberate the line of hungry people behind you seeking to get to class or elsewhere on campus grow pretty restless.
Am seriously impressed. Healthy eating made easy, infinitely customizable and delicious. And they use Just Mayo which is the best vegan mayonnaise imho!
I love Beefsteak and have enjoyed previous visits to the Dupont Cir. location in DC. However, I was bummed to walk three miles today — while visiting Philly — to visit the Penn location, only to have it closed during renovations. Google showed the Penn store as “open” today and I didn’t see anything on the store’s specific webpage suggesting it was closed. Oh well, I still love the restaurant — just sorry and disappointed the Penn summer closure wasn’t better publicized on Google, the store’s web page, etc. Wasted two hours of my day.
Interesting salad options. The chicken sausage was crisp and savory. Their gazpacho salad was a creative idea executed well.
Definitely order your dressing on the side. The ingredients were good, but I couldn't finish mine because it was in a soup of garlic yogurt sauce.
Name: Beefsteak On principle i have to give this a one star just because its false advertising and im not a fan of false advertising. Also it is unfortunate that you must use a name like beefsteak to get us alpha apex predator homosaepians to visit your vegitable patch. No thanks time to eat meat.
High quality vegetarian food, with the option to add meat to your meal. Prices are reasonable
