Tucked away on Driggs right behind McCarren, Bernie’s has an intimate 90’s local bar vibe with incredible dishes. They do not take reservations, we waited around 35 minutes for a table for two. Well worth the wait. Once seated, the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. We ordered the wedge salad, mozzarella sticks and baked clams to start and shared the burger as our main. We finished with the brownie sundae. Great date spot or just for a really good meal.
Must arrive early! There was a line outside before Bernie’s even opened. This was my first time here. I was impressed by their cute classic diner aesthetic. I highly recommend ordering Bernie’s chips and dip onion dip as an appetizer. One of the best dips I ever tasted. Their Caesar salad and french fries are a must try! Absolutely scrumptious. I had the ribs, they were pretty decent too. Lastly, but certainly not the least, I ended my experience the Bernie’s Brownie Sundae. YUMMY! I would come back just for their Sundae. Thank you Bernie’s for this experience!!
This is an upscale version of Applebees but way better. Amazing food, great service. We started with mozzarella sticks, clams. And of course a burger. One Ceasar salad to share. We loved it and we will be back again for more.
Great spot! They've got those mozzarella sticks you can only find at an ice rink. Eggplant Parm and burger really good. Super nice friendly staff and bartenders. An excellent orange wine.
I have walked by this place so many times and it’s always so packed. Needed to see what all the fuss was about and I was absolutely not disappointed. The wedge salad came with a slab of pork on top, it was unreal. I got the veggie burger, and this veggie burger was by far the best veggie burger I have had. Please come here and try for yourself!
It’s a vibe. Long line. Get there 20mins before opening and you will get seated most likely. Chicken parm on Sunday nights is good. Caesar salad is solid. Will be returning to try more of their menu!
Delicious, Non-pretentious, Scene They offer you crayons to draw on the table covering & sip martinis. About 1.5 hours to get a table - but worth it. Menu selection is casual, classic Americana burger, motz sticks, fries etc but exceptionally delicious. .
Bernie’s has quickly become a favorite for classic comfort food. The atmosphere is best described as an elevated Applebee’s — complete with stained glass pendants — although with limited seating. They don’t take reservations, so plan to wait to snag a seat at the bar or a table. The combo of their mozzarella sticks and a dirty gin martini is the true star of the show, although all of their food hits that craving for rich, bad-for-you flavor.
LOVED! Really cute setup, amazing food. Highly recommend both the burger/fries and the Caesar. Will be back for more!! Only thing I’d suggest is more brownie in the brownie sundae… The sundae was delicious but there was hardly any brownie in it.
Wait the 1.5 hours. The mozzarella sticks were incredible, and chicken parm was SO good. Homemade chips and dip were super flavorful. This is a great little spot in Brooklyn. Feels very familiar and cozy with some modern vibes.
