Best Bargains

Best prices around, eclectic variety, good for your meat purchases but check the expiration date. Has other good that is near or past best buy date if you don't mind that, as the prices are very low. Weekly visit for my household, who especially love the veggie quesadillas.

I love their breakfast sausages and their price on meats, but I agree. You HAVE to look at expiration dates. Not doing so myself the last time I was there, I found a double pack of Stoffers Mac Cups clearanced for .49 and bought 2 packs. What a deal, I had one, not too bad, but not the best, so I went online to Stoffers to find out more about it or if they sold it locally and they said it was discontinued. I looked at the bottom of the cup and it read “Best if used by October 2016”. I about passed out - how could I have not checked, but more importantly, did they find this in an old back room stock shelf and decided, hey let’s put it out and hopefully some poor sap will buy it. Thank goodness I went to Stoffers website, I would have consumed the rest and potentially had a bad experience. Yes, I said 2016. I took a photo cause it’s hard to believe.

If not for the great prices, I love going here for the friendly faces. They have tons of fresh produce, plenty of bulk foods without needing a membership, and it's great for big families or if you are having a party. It's a no frills place, which I actually like, and as a food blogger, I really like that I can pick up restaurant supply stuff too. They are cash and carry, you can pay with cash or a check, but they don't take cards. However, there is an ATM right inside the door for your convenience. I love the dairy section, and the fact that they do sell a lot of locally grown produce, you never know what will be available. Great place!

I love this place. I have to drive up from Illinois to get to it but try to make it up there at least twice a month. The prices are great, lots of different stuff to look at, everyone is super friendly. It sort of puts you in a time warp when you walk in, but that is all part of the ambiance.
