Born and raised in New York , pizza is the most important thing when it comes to staple foods . Living my whole life in Brooklyn is always a debate who has the best pizza , many recommend this place so wanted to see for myself what’s the big hype. When I walked in it look like a typical Pizza joint, I got the opportunity to speak to Brian and he gave us a small tour and explanation of this establishment. How the oven is over 120 years old , how they use Oak to make the fire and they prepare mozzarella in-house and how many hours it takes for the onions to cook I believe he said six , I could be wrong Also got the opportunity to meet the owner super friendly down to earth humble man. The vibe is amazing feels very Brooklyn. Customer service five stars I had the opportunity to order regular Pizza pie ,grandma and the white pizza everything was amazing . Thin crust very delicious . Hands-down top 5 Pizza places I have ever tried. Also had a arugula salad very good. I highly recommend to visit this spot . Just sit enjoy every bite.
I loved the Sicilian and Grandma Slice. So so good. Very high quality ingredients and the dough was super light, airy and crisp. The NY slice was also fire but I do prefer the little cupped pepperonis more. They make their own mozzarella and you can tell. Prices are cheap, service is friendly and the place looks cool. Overall definitely a great puritan NY Pizza stop.
Great pizzas with a nice and thin dough. I really liked the white slice. Pepperoni and grandma were decent as well. Finished 2 slices with ease excluding the crust. The restaurant was lacking cleanliness though, even spotted a cockroach crawling on the wall.
I visited new York for a week and visited about 10 pizza places. I think I put Best Pizza second on my list behind Di Fara, slice was delicious. The only slight criticism I have is that the crust was very big, would have preferred less crust and more cheese and tomato. Staff were very friendly and I loved the look of the restaurant. I could eat this pizza for the rest of my life and be happy. Highly recommended!!
My bf said this was the best pizza he’s ever had in his life! The crust is delicious and thin and just perfect. If you’re in the area I highly recommend. I think the white slice is the best.
What's knot to love! Great NY slices and scrumptious little knots too?! The sauce is great and the pie has the perfect NY crust with undercarriage that holds up to carry out. The white guy was a stand out slice with surprising nuance and attention to detail like the well placed dollops of caramelized onions and the reinforced sesame seeded crust. Will be sure to add this to my NYC/ Brooklyn slice rotation Note for fellow vegetarians: the grandma pie has anchovies in the sauce! Idk why but just FYI.
Definitely in the top 3 pizzas in NYC. Their grandma slice is the best I’ve had so far. Crunchy and fluffy and saucy. Can’t beat it. The white slice is also worth trying. Amazing flavour.
Really like the margarita slice very much, as the cheese and tomato ratio well very even and well spread out. Coming out hot from the oven, the cheese really does melts in your mouth. The crust is also thin, chewy and slightly salty. Tried the Grandma slice as well and a bit heavy for my taste and I guess just not used to it. Service was good, and the guy taking the order and collecting payment was really nice and friendly.
The atmosphere inside feels like old school Brooklyn. I've tried 3 slices cheese, pepperoni, and grandma they all were really good. The dough of the pizza has a great texture and quality. You can also tell that they use fresh ingredients. Pair it with a beer and you are good to go.
I got the cheese and the Sicilian, which were both joyous! I’ve always loved eating spoonfuls of marinara sauce out of the jar, which was just about the experience of eating the Sicilian—just with even better marinara! The crust was soft and spongy, with a bit of tang. The classic cheese was the best NYC-style slice I’ve had. Not like basil is a surprise on pizza, but the basil and the homemade mozzarella made for an unexpected flavor burst!
