The BBB website is a HORROR but I was unable to get help from a human being at my local office either. I needed to send a message to the BBB about a complaint that I filed, but it is impossible for me to find out how to do that on the website. The fact that I am half blind does not help. When I called BBB for help, I was not able to just talk to someone, the phone system shuttled me over to the Albuquerque office. It was only 4:05 but the voicemail said that I had supposedly called them "after hours." Looking at the Google page for this BBB, it says that they are open until 4:30.....25 minutes from the time that I placed my call. I understand that Covid has caused some issues with businesses, but this is ridiculous. SOMEONE could surely answer the phone. Relying upon computers and so-called "artificial intelligence" is a HUGE mistake for businesses to be making now. Computers are only able to help TO A POINT and there are many many circumstances that require the attention of a human....particularly if your customer is disabled and needs just a little bit of extra help navigating the web site. A three-minute conversation would have solved my issue, I am quite sure. How hard can it be to append a message to a complaint, to add information?

I filed a complaint against a garage door company in Albuquerque with the BBB and my complaint wasn't investigate and it never became available to the public. So no one knows how bad the company is. It appears that this BBB is serving its commercial customers and not the consumers. They are likely in bed together and don't want any negative complaints about the business that subscribe to their services. I thought it was all about the consumers! Don't patronize this bureau and don't believe their stamp of approval on the businesses they serve. If you want real company reviews, look at Google reviews! Your time is more valuable. Thank you Google for providing a place to review a horrible organization.
The IRONY that the BBB has a 2 Star Review is NOT lost on me.
When hiring a painting company I looked to the BBB website and trusted one of their recommendations because it was BBB accredited. The company scammed me out of $10,000 and when I filled out a complaint on the BBB website they never posted it. Apparently as long as a company pays its membership fee the BBB won't post any bad reviews about the member.
i need help, i have purchased a vehicle with Car1auto in Alb, NM. I have made my 3rd payment and the car has not been in our possession, we have been getting the run around, and right now its been in the shop since Feb 20th, 2021. nothing but broken promises, how do i report this and how do i get help on getting our money back?? Dealership owner says there is nothing he can do for getting us our down payment back and moving on. I don't believe the owner, there has to be a way to get out of the deal and move on. I need help.
BBB has become less transparent. With their new website, one can no longer see the complaint details. They could learn a lot from Yelp and Google and realize that we are living in more transparent times, not more secrecy. My complaint literally disappeared for a company who paid for their premium service to be an “accredited business” on their website and they changed the company rating from an A- to an A+. They have the same person on their board of directors that is also on the NM Roofing Contractors Association. I had to ask 3 times before they finally told me the truth about that and only after I was very specific about who told me. I made the mistake of trusting them to be objective and truthful. The arbitration process is a kangaroo court. The arbitrator didn’t even put a date on the award even though the work was to be completed within 30 days of the award date. He also ignored all of the evidence including the physical evidence, the expert witnesses, the pictures and video. We no longer live in a society where entities can hide their deception. The BBB needs to learn the importance of truth, honesty and transparency.
The BBB New Mexico is not responsive to consumers and the consumer does not have access to review, response in the same way the business does. A consumer is allowed one response when reviewing a business; the business is allowed to make multiple response. The director if you can reach him he is never in his office and seems surprised if you call him at the number listed on his recording is not available. From what I understand he protects businesses from consumers all the while bestowing high ratings to corrupt, greedy businesses. This organization has no respect for consumers; read the reviews. It is impossible to get a consumer phone call answered. A long recording claiming they are at lunch or it is outside of business hours is what I have heard for the past week; at all times of the day. If you are able to get a phone call answered the Director is never there what does he do? and he seems annoyed and angry if you call him at the phone number from his messaging. This is a private number; where did you get this number. How does one make a formal complaint about the BBB?
Won’t return any phone calls about a complaint received. Tried to contact BBB with no call back, was not able to fight a complaint then lower our rating when we could have explained what happened and how it was fixed. It would have been nice to have been able to resolve this issue before it affected our ratings, thank goodness BBB is outdated.
Quit promoting un-licensed contractors and handyman. You are bringing America down by advertising illegal services for them. I was told the BBB website was being revamped to correct this issue and months later it's worse. I thought the BBB's mission was to help the general public not get messed up with them not advertise for them. I wish you would realize that anyone who contracts anything needs a license to do so and they also need someone who is licensed to conduct the work, ie Journeyman, but yet you promote the opposite. Handyman are not allowed to advertise at all in New Mexico. Well they don't need to you do enough for them. Read the laws before you advertise for them and quit advertising and giving great ratings to un-licensed contractors. One other note why is this BBB office not even accredited with the BBB like the other BBB offices? The rating is "NR" and their web page offers you to "Be the First to Review" but when you try to it won't let you. Are you guys a scam and not even affiliated with the BBB and that's why the Not Rated status is posted for you? We dropped you for advertising unlicensed contractors.
