The people who work here are awesome. Had the very berry salad - best salad I've ever had in my life. It's a bit out of the way if you're traveling through like we were, but completely worth it. Found it by accident and am so utterly pleased that we did.
Staff didn't seem very organized and kind of just sat up front talking and didn't communicate well. When we went in on Sunday, it seemed slow but took 45 minutes for our food. When it came out it was cold like it had been sitting for 15 minutes. Burger was okay, not seasoned or anything. We thought the hot brown burger would be a burger in a bun but it was just a regular hot brown but with a hamburger Patty. We really hoped it'd be better.
Honestly, the best thing was the 25oz Yuengling. Could have been an off night since the place was dead and the bar was closed.
The fried pickles and California burger with garlic fries was amazing....the peach county cider was Oh so good!!! Shock top was pair well with the California burger.
Very disappointed compared to the atmosphere of the New Albany Big 4 Burgers and Bourbon. Bathrooms nasty, drinks were less than diserable and we were forgotten outside. Will stick to New Albany!
I ordered a Big Four Classic, medium rare. While the burger was delicious, it wasn't cooked to order. It could also do without the shredded lettuce. The onion rings I split with my friend were crispy and tasty. The fries were a bit under-cooked, but were tasty as well. The beer was fantastic it was an IPA but I'll be damned if I can remember the brand, but the two pints I ordered cost two dollars more than the entree. The service was excellent. The server was prompt and courteous. My entree, two pints, and half of an onion ring appetizer came to almost $30.00. The food was fine, but not really $30.00 fine for one person. Just a little too pricey for a return visit.
Myself and 9 of my friends were in Louisville for a convention. We decided to walk across the bridge to Indiana with no real idea where to eat once we got there. We ended up choosing Big Four cause it just looked like the kind of place that serves good food and drinks. We were not disappointed! It was a lovely environment, very edgy upstairs, and we didn't wait long at all for a seat even with our large party. Our waitress, Tiffany, was amazing and attentive not to mention cool with all of us getting separate checks, and the food and drinks were awesome. We even spoke to the manager who was really friendly as well. As a large group of college-aged students from out of town, we felt completely welcomed and had a great time and even greater meals! I'm a vegetarian and got the veggie burger and it was really really good, would recommend even for meat eaters. If I'm ever in town again I'll definitely be heading back!
Burgers were good. We went just after opening and got to speak with the owner and some staff. Everyone was super nice and fun to talk too. A little cold inside that day but not unbearable. I do prefer my burgers with just a bit more salt, but I know that's personal preference. I believe the owner told me they blended their beef there and the burgers where cooked right to medium rare and very juicy. Toppings were plenty enough to bring flavor and not overdone with a big piece of lettuce. Will be back again, to try more dishes
Good: Location is convenient to bikers and walkers. The place itself is pretty cool. Cautions: The food is a mixed bag. IMO, excellent veggie burger and excellent fish sandwich. Fries were terribly greasy. Service was exceptionally slow... possibly in my top-five slowest service ever. With that said, I personally thought the food was good enough to return... and even muster up a decent rating. I want to return and explore the menu a little more. I'm hoping it was just an "off day".
Went here for lunch today with some coworkers. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the service was, especially after having read negative comments about the service. There was only one server, but he did an excellent job checking with all of the tables regularly. The GM was also present and checked to make sure our burgers were done correctly, saying she had cooked them herself. Everything was good, including the burger options and beer selection. But I still left feeling very surprised that a burger with friends and a beer came out to $24.
