New Students $49 for 30 days of yoga! Bikram Yoga is 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, performed in a studio heated to 105 degrees with 50% humidity.

Story

Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, designed by Bikram Choudhury, performed in a studio heated to 105 degrees with 50% humidity. This series systematically works every part of the body, to give all the internal organs, veins, ligaments and muscles everything they need to maintain optimum health and maximum function.

Bikram Choudhury is the founder of the worldwide Yoga College of India™. Born in Calcutta in 1946, Bikram began Yoga at the age of four with Bishnu Ghosh, the younger brother of Paramahansa Yogananda (author of The Autobiography of a Yogi, and founder of the Self-Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles).

Bikram practiced Yoga four to six hours every day at Ghosh's college of Physical Education in Calcutta. At the age of thirteen, he won the National India Yoga Championship. He was undefeated for the following three years and retired as the undisputed All-India National Yoga Champion.

At seventeen, he endured a devastating injury to his knee during a weight-lifting competition. Bikram was told by doctors that he would not walk again. But with yoga, six months later, his knee was totally recovered.

Bikram devised the 26 postures sequence, which has a profound healing power on your body and mind. He later founded Bikram's Yoga College of India, and with the help of his affiliated studios, has shown the light of healthy life to millions of people around the world.

We took the Bikram 90 minute class and had an awesome experience. The teacher was very enthusiastic and gave us excellent training. The room was heated very nicely and was very spacious and big enough to be least three people deep. The floor was a very thin carpet that I actually liked and was actually more like a fuzzy mat than carpet. They had a shower which was awesome to take after class especially being on the road in a van. The shower was very clean and the studio in general was very clean and organized. The class was $20 and we were also able to rent a mat and a mat towel. We did not have to wear any masks and not have to be vaccinated thank God. :- We actually even had the choice of getting adjustments by the instructor which was nice after two years of no touching etc.
This place used to be so awesome, but in trying to appeal to a wider audience, they've lost a lot of the essence of Bikram yoga. They're down to only two 90-minute classes per week, and they've become much less professional and meditative. They've had a lot of turnover of instructors and some of the newer ones seem less focused on creating a true Bikram-style environment Oh, Matt, I miss you SO much!!. I go to Bikram for the meditation--the challenge forces me to focus all of my attention on the instructor's voice and the postures, and I rely on them being the same each time. The instructors now go off script a lot more and allow students to hurry through the postures rather than being present in the moment and waiting for the instructor's cues. In today's class, someone rudely! asked to have the fans turned on and, rather than suggesting they just step out, the instructor actually stopped to accommodate them. We then ended up having less time and so did one of the postures only once. Because of this one rude person, everyone else had to have their concentration interrupted. I get that the instructor was trying to be nice, but indulging this person took away from everyone else's meditative practice. Bikram OKC seems to have forgotten about the focused, meditative aspects of Bikram in favor of being more like every other yoga studio, which is disappointing. I drive a fair distance to go here, and it's worth it to be able to practice Bikram yoga. If I wanted just everyday "hot yoga" which is what they seem to be aspiring to, I could go to a studio closer to home.
Best yoga studio I've ever visited. All of the benefits of Bikram without the drawbacks of acting like Bikram himself. I live in Denver, and have been to many hot yoga studios here. Never found one close to as good as this one in Oklahoma City.
As a beginner to Bikram, I found the instructor, Lauren, was an excellent guide, the studio has a non-intimidating atmosphere, and I definitely enjoyed myself.
I dropped in for a class while here for work, and Tina was great. I had never taken a Bikram class before, and it challenges you in a different way than flow yoga classes. There were two men in the class one who was probably more advanced than all the women in there, so this studio is very welcoming and inclusive. I will drop in again when I’m back in OKC!
This place is awesome. All of the instructors... Tina, Sherri, and Matt are extremely welcoming. Friendly faces every time you walk through that door. I’m very thankful for the studio and for the instructors. I can just tell how passionate all of them are for Bikram yoga. They challenge you to keep going and do your best and they encourage your breath. This is by far the best hot yoga studio I’ve been to. There’s clean showers available, and they even have products that you can use.
I was invited, by my good friend Cody, to try out Bikram OKC for the first time! I’m so glad I came. I also made my reservation through Google, which was awesome great experience with that. Kayla was so welcoming and the class flowed so well. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
High end venue. My girlfriend guest taught here and I took her class as well as several other classes from different instructors. Amazed this place is not more popular. Confident it will be with time. Reasonably priced. All levels and experience welcomed. Worth mentioning how amazing one feels upon completion of a class. Such an awesome practice. One of the city's best kept secrets!
