Bill’s is an amazing place to come hear bluegrass music! Hear great shows for only $5 or $10, bring your instrument to do some picking yourself, and enjoy the warm hospitality and family-friendly atmosphere. As a performing band, we absolutely loved playing here and can’t wait to come back in October!! Headin’ Home Bluegrass All the people here are the greatest. This music store is a little piece of history that Willie Wells is carrying on.
Very nice place to see some live old time Country music. People were very friendly and welcoming. You need to check it out if you love to dance too.
Great place to go on Friday nights to enjoy some good bluegrass music. You can also bring your instrument and join in a bluegrass jam. Open to all ages and all levels of playing ability.
Every Friday is Bluegrass night. Several local performers come to the stage and play for the first hour. Then the featured group takes the stage and performs for the next hour. There is a small concession stand to sell snacks and drinks. After the performance the place stays open for a jam session.
This place is one of my favorites! The music and the atmosphere were perfect
We were invited for some good old fashioned blue grass and country music on Friday nights- as my daughter has been taking my 91 year old aunt there fairly regularly as of late. The owner told me they do country gospel on Saturday nights. It is usually about $5 dollars to enter; However, when we attended the fee was $15 dollars as they had special bands come in that particular night. That band travels about and they have a fee they charge the business managers or owners, as well as the hopes of selling their music to the crowd. The band was very popular. Food is sold at counter along with soda and tea or coffee. Chips, popcorn and hot dogs seem to be on the menu and there are a variety of instruments and sheet music for sale. Family environment- though the adults do not exactly appreciate toddlers interrupting the entertainment. Out of respect for other guests, just as children acting up in a movie theater should be removed untill able to behave; Likewise, it is rude to allow children to distract the adults who paid for a nice evening of entertainment. I think it is a fairly safe place to enjoy yourself whether attending alone or with others. I would recommend this place to others with the understanding that it is for a certain music genre- thus the name, Bill's pickin' parlor.
A Columbia SC must-see. This is THE place for bluegrass music in the area. Friday concerts followed by Saturday classes that vary according to the schedule - beginners are more than welcome!
My husband and I went there for line dancing lessons and dancing to awesome music played by a DJ. The people there were so nice and we had a blast! I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys alcohol free, family friendly and wholesome fun.
The Slow Jam ... awesome! Great for all level guitar, banjo, mandolin fiddle, ...players. good, good people. My first time, I will have pix next time.
I went to Bills to buy some cables for our church sound system. They did not have them . I needed them for the next service at church. Bill, told me to hold on and he went and brought me 4 cables out of his personal equipment and let me use them. You do not find a place or person that will trust a stranger like he did. I took the cables back the and he would not take anything for letting me use them. If you ever need some type of musical instrument or help with one ,Bill, is a great man to go to for your needs and also to hear some great MUSIC and friends Thanks again for your help, Carlus Randy Chavis
