The coffee was very good on its own and I didn’t feel an urge to add sugar. The smaller cookies were pretty good. Now, I am not a chocolate chip cookie fan in general so keep that in mind as I describe my experience. It looked good so I wanted to try it, and I do love sweets generally. The cookie was a lot harder than I would’ve expected. The edges were harder and the center had a slight softness. It was made with dark chocolate which I personally don’t like. I think it looked better than it tasted. I wouldn’t go out of my way to try it unless that description suits your liking. Overall, decent place. The cashier was very sweet!
best croissant in nyc… bold claim but there i said it. This cozy little Soho bakery is charming inside and out, but no seating inside! They offer tons of melt-in-your-mouth, too-good-to-be-true breads AND serve la Colombe coffee.
Croissant and pignoli cookie are both so good! Eventually I’ll try one of everything. The best part of today’s visit to Vesuvio was the warm energy of the people working there. Seems to me the owner and manager must treat their team with kindness and respect, because that’s how they treat their customers. I asked a specific question about the ingredients of a certain muffin and when she didn’t know from memory she literally grabbed a binder of recipes and looked up the info for me. It’s worth stopping in for the good vibe and humanity, as effective as a shot of espresso
Stopped by for the first time in years. I was impressed with the range of freshly baked cookies and breads. Unfortunately, I purchased a sourdough loaf that was completely burnt on the bottom. The burn went more than an eighth of an inch deep and the smoky odor permeated the entire loaf. Quite disappointed.
Confusing and misleading. Please update your hours, or signs — you had a sidewalk “open” sign out, as well as this sign at your entrance. I tried going in at 8:10, then again 8:20 am yesterday 12/28 and two people workers inside waved me off.
I am so glad that I accidentally walked into this place! The ricotta cheesecake is just so wonderful. It is light but rich, fluffy but moist with a thin red velvet crust at the bottom. Trying to save half of it for tomorrow but I just wanna finish it today. The sourdough is also delicious. It is soft and moist inside and has a gentle semi-hard texture outside.
This place deserves a 5 star! Amazing vibe, bakery and staff. Their breakfast sandwich is 10/10, good little start to the day.
It's back! Vesuvio's is back!! The famous green front is repainted. It's all re-made inside. The loaves of bread are in the windows. But it's all-new and better for it. Great selection of breads and cookies. Coffee is fantastic. Cookies to perfection. Inside is fresh and clean but still looks old-world with the exposed brick. They have stools and counters. And the staff is friendly as can be. Wandering Prince? Pick up a loaf. Or just step into a bit of Soho history and grab a cookie and coffee
most delicious focaccia and chocolate chip cookies. me and my friends come here all the time for lunch. super friendly staff and great ambience!!
Easily one of the best cappuccino downtown the beans are from la colombe! If you prefer your first meal to be savory, their breakfast sandwich is phenomenal — and probably underrated, because most patrons go for their beautiful bread display or pastry case. Speaking of which, the thumbprint jam cookies are very subtle and unlike many places nearby they’re not a sugar-bomb! In the warmer months, come for the gelato soft-serve and sit out front for the people-watching.
