DO NOT USE BJ’S FOR ONLINE ORDERS!!!! Ordered a TV online for home delivery. Shipping company told me a Friday delivery between 12-4. Took the day off and around 2:30 I get a phone call from the delivery company telling me it is being transferred to another delivery company and will be delivered on Monday. Called customer service and told a supervisor that I can’t take another day off, ship it to the store. I’m told they can’t do that. All they can do is cancel the order. Fine, cancel the order and I will buy it from another company that has more experience shipping items.
BJ's is my favorite of all 3 of the clubs, Sam's Club, Costco for 4 main reasons: [#1. ONLY CLUB THAT ALLOWS COUPONS:] They are the only club that ALLOWS PAPER & MANUFACTURER coupons. Sam's Club and Costco do NOT accept any type of coupon. I always get WAY more savings at BJ's because of this, and because BJ's constantly has promo events "spend $X, get $Y in BJ's rewards for your next shopping trip" or "spend $X, get $Y off your order instantly" along with instant savings. Sam's Club and Costco don't do these threshold rewards or coupons or spend x, get y. BJ's reminds me of a CVS or Dollar General or Walgreens with their reward systems and I absolutely love it. So much more savings opportunities. I always save wayyy more at BJ's. [#2. CHEAPEST GAS]: Their GAS IS ALWAYS CHEAPER than the other 2 clubs. Consistently, without fail. By at a minimum 5 cents always. Usually other clubs charging 2.99/gallon and BJ's charges $2.94 a gallon. No brainer. [#3. BEST VARIETY AND FOOD OPTIONS:] BJ's has way more variety of flavors, scents, etc. of any other club. By far. For example, they are the only club that carries my favorite Belgian Eggo Waffles. They have way more options in each food group, food/drink brand, and household items brand, whereas at other clubs, you either like one flavor only the only one available or you're screwed. [#4. WAYYYY BETTER STORE OPEN HOURS:] They're open way earlier and wayyyy later than the other 2 clubs. I love being able to shop anytime between 8am to 9pm. Whereas Sam's and Costco close at 6pm/8pm/8:30pm every day. It makes shopping so difficult. This BJ's location is super nice, clean, very organized, and very well stocked! No random pallets on floor. Everything put away and in place. Plenty of clean, dry carts inside. Very accurate signage for all deals and prices! Tons of coupons booklets and flyers up front to take home! I LOVE seeing Tally the robot during every visit! She is made by Simbe and is an inventory checking robot. She's the reason BJs inventory for their stores is so accurate, unlike a lot of other stores where online says they are in stock, you drive to the store, and they have 0 in stock. Because of tally, I've found that the stock listed online is very accurate. I looked online and it says zero in stock, I drive to the store for another reason but also I check myself to see if there is really zero of that item, and there really is zero. It is so nice to have accurate information. Tally zooms around the store checking inventory. She's so adorable and makes the cutest sounds! I appreciate how late the store is open and how early it opens in the morning! It allows for way more schedule and driving flexibility than Costco or Sam's Club. Thank you so much, BJ's!
a battery failed on 95 N just before the old exit 8. Figuring that BJs may sell car batteries I called them. Took 5 calls before I was able to get a person. when I asked if they have car batteries and could install the same I was told that they did and they could. I had the car towed to BJS. While they did they not have this very common car battery it would not have mattered because the tire guy said that he had no tools ??? and they did not sell tools . I can't imagine a worse store. When Costco opens they will close. I just hope that the tire guy does not get a job at Costco
App is very glitchy and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I live a lot closer to BJ's but I'm going to change my membership to Sam's Club as soon as this one runs out.
Wow I have BJ’s membership but apparently this Portland maine location does not have free air for tires.
It would be difficult and expensive to come on our week vacation without a run to BJs. This is a friendly store. It is well stocked. My wife and I had a mini date getting food for the extended family.
Much better selection and stock than the Auburn location, and much MUCH better than Sam's Club. I highly recommend them.
I bought glasses 2 weeks ago and they 7 to 10 days and haven't called and I've tried calling about 10 times and no one will answer also the woman I bought them from was rude and unhelpful
Imagine paying $55 per year for the privilege of bagging your own groceries in the pouring rain at night while trying not to get hit by cars. This place not only does not bag your stuff, they scolded me for bringing in bags and bagging my own. It seems almost every one here is rude and has not been trained in basic customer service. I say "have a great night" with a big smile to the carriage guy many times and he just looks at me with a scowl; maybe he doesn't speak English. I say "Merry Christmas!", and the employees just look at the floor and wait for you to go away. It has been implied SEVERAL times that I was shoplifting. One lady Sabrina even checked my receipt with a marker at the top, but then called me back to say I didn't scan everything, even though she had MARKED IT OFF! She recounted it, and everything was fine. What a joke! Maybe hire more than ONE cashier. It's all self check outs, except they got rid of ALL the guns, meaning you need to lift every heavy thing onto the belt and off again. Looks like I will never be buying cat litter again here. As of yesterday, the gas station across the street was cheaper by two cents. Stay away!
Beware of purchasing plants this year because there is only a 90 guarantee. I purchased $300.00 worth of shrubs last May, hired someone to dig a trench to plant them, purchase good loam and had them placed. I watered them faithfully morning and night and they looked great in the fall. Covered them with fine netting to prevent deer from eating them and this is what they looked like this spring. I just called to ask for a credit or refund and they said that they do not cover more than 90 days. BEWARE and be informed.
