This place gets busy! It was worth the wait though. The food was delicious and the service was great. Really enjoyed the deluxe French dip.Food: 5/5
The night out for my Grandsons birthday.. the restaurant chosen for the gathering was closed so we went to Black Bear. It was a great choice!! I'm not from the area but the food was good & the pie was worth making a trip to have!! It wasn't a slice it was like a bowl!! Very nice presentation and yummy !! Big hat's off to Tamara our waitress.. she did a fantastic job taking on our unexpected crew!! It made the unexpected change in venue much more enjoyable!! Thanks Tamara!!
Very good food and portion sizes are great. Decent daily specials and smaller sized meals for a lower or value price. This place offers online savings. Great steak meals too. Still offers the 25 percent off meals in the monthly coupon mailer. Features: Restaurant guests do not need masks.
Great food! Fast and friendly service! I want to go back and try more food. Kid-friendliness: Good kids meals and all kinds of meals. Parking: The old Sizzer building. Good location! For walking and driving.
Food was fantastic. Portions are too generous. Everyone left well fed and happy. Service was excellent! Definitely coming back. We have eaten here every trip to Portland and it doesn't disappoint. Good food. Good service. The pie and cobbler are amazing too. August 2022 They have new end of summer menu items! I had the berry seltzer and it was amazingly good. The biscuits are enormous. Meat omelette was perfect. Smiley face pancakes were Handicapped access and easy parking. Kid-friendliness: They put the kids drink in a to go cup so there is a lid. Parking: Lots of parking. Easy in. Easy out.
Have done other reviews for Black Bear so nothing has changed on how I feel. This is for the Portland restaurant on SE 82nd Ave. I love this restaurant. It never fails to satisfy me. Staff is exceptional and environment is always warm and inviting. Clean and not run down like some places have become over the last year. I will only review my order. I had the prime rib dinner. 10oz slice with your choice of two side items and either a soup or salad all for $23.99 Let me start by saying I went to steak house last week wanting a prime rib dinner. Well this place use to have it but took it off the menu. The steak I order was not as good as what I got today at Black Bear. The slice was tender done the way I like it and full of flavor. The side items of mashed potatoes and veggies was great. The brown gravy I got was excellent. If your looking for a good down home style of food to fill you up...Black Bear give it a try.
Fish was good not super flavorful or having any salt the sauce helped and the fish was crispy on the outside and flaky and moist like it should be to my liking the slaw was very modestly coated with something but not over Powered or watery very light and refreshing fries were great! I found the staff entertaining to watch while I eat and it was a very friendly atmosphere I'd go back
Great food, large portions, and fairly low prices. I highly recommend upgrading to the sweet potato fries! Kid-friendliness: They have a colorable kid's menu and my kids have always felt welcome there. Parking: Located in the old Sizzler, ample parking in the lot behind the building.
Delicious breakfast, full plates, decent pricing and family friendly. I was very happy with the service so now we go a few times a month. The pancakes are absolutely delicious and so are the omelettes. Definitely the best omelette I've gotten at a restaurant.Food: 5/5
Every one that we have eaten at has had great food and service. My fiance loved his breakfast and I loved mine. The first black Bear restaurant was in Vegas Nevada. The second was Vancouver Washington. Now here in the heart of Portland. Thank you Black Bear for making such a great place to come to.Food: 5/5
