I had a very positive experience attending Black Rock Yoga. Although I am an avid yogi and a certified instructor, I had never taken hot yoga before. The studio lent me a towel and props to stay safe. They also asked if anyone was new to yoga or hot yoga and offered us breaks if we needed. The cool lavender towel at the end was also amazing! I definitely had nothing to be nervous about as everyone there was so supportive and welcoming. It was also a great class and I worked up quite a sweat.
I have taken yoga classes in a number of studios in various cities and with varied instructors, and I can confidently say that Black Rock Yoga is one of the most inviting and serene yoga studios I have ever practiced in. The sense of community, friendly staff, great mats and other props, calming colors and design, and natural light enhance one's yoga practice, but what made my experience at Black Rock so fantastic was the class, led by a skilled instructor, Sarah. As a runner, her heated intermediate class the Big Kahuna was just what my hamstrings, hips, and lower back needed. But even better, the entire class seemed to feel the same way from the most experienced students to a new mother returning to yoga after some time off! I would highly recommend Black Rock Yoga to others, particularly given the amazing introductory offer--$25 for 25 days seriously, can't beat that!--and I hope to visit again soon.
Beautiful studio; run by two very friendly and down-to-earth women. All materials are supplied mats, towels, blocks, etc and it's in a great part of town, with lots of places to eat and Replenish Juice Bar. I haven't taken a class yet but I would guess they are top-knotch. I'm going to take advantage of their $25 for 25 promo.
