We stopped in because we saw a lot of people entering the previous night. They weren't super busy when we went in but it was picking up. We had the BBQ sandwich and Caesar salad with grilled salmon. Both were very good. I always love a good Caesar salad. There were plenty of tasty looking dishes on the menu so definitely worth another stop the next time we're in town. Our server was great. In fact, the whole staff looked like they were having a good time there.
Went for lunch on a Friday. Place was moderately busy. Waited a long time to order & almost half an hour for our food. To restaurant’s credit, our server apologized & said our meals would be free of charge. I had fish tacos special, which was tasty, but chips were pedestrian. Colleague had fish sandwich, which he reported as “pretty good.” Sometimes things happen, & this experience was not optimal, but was handled correctly & food was good.
We had about 10 people in our group during our last night in Louisville. We passed the sampler platter of appetizers around and I enjoyed everything that I ate from it. Multiple people ordered the Hot Brown. I ordered the Salmon Tacos. All were pleased with the food. My old fashions were inconsistent. Overall a good time was had by all.
1st timer. Business trip. AMBIANCE Love the vibe! Hole in the wall but not hole in the wall. Next to the stadium so I could imagine this place is packed on game day. Our server was absolutely amazing - attentive, informative, and split up our checks with a smile. EATS EATS Tried the Louisville famous “Hot Brown” - came out on two plates piping hot and very bit delicious. Shared it with a coworker. DRINKS DRINKS Diverse beer list and really good from light to dark. Get a sampler to try them. And wash it all down with pickleback shots or the green tea shot whiskey because why not - brings back the college vibes. GREAT spot to unwind with some friends and equally can be used to pre party for a game.
A Pioneer in the Microbrewery Scene in Louisville. Another day was spent roaming around the downtown area and again I found myself famished. I had been out several nights in a row and just wanted a nice cold beer and some lighter food options, The Bluegrass Brewing Company had everything I needed and it was just around the corner from my hotel. I was seated quickly by the friendly staff and they helped pick out a nice easy-drinking beer from their collection. I started with a bowl of their soup-of-the-day which was a Barley and Beef Soup. This was a medium-sized dish full of chunks of braised beef. This soup was very good. For my main course, I went for their PowerHouse from the salad section of the menu which was a salad made from Kale, Spinach, Quinoa, Beets, Carrots, Garbonzo Beans, Pumpkin Seeds, and Dried Cranberries and my choice of dressing which I had on the side. The veggies in the salad were all clean and tasted fresh and surprisingly this salad was very filling, sans the calories. The Bluegrass Brewing Company is Louisville's first microbrewery, and if you like beer and good food, give them a try. Vegetarian options: Food for everyone.
Upon passing the bluegrass brewing co I didn’t know what to expect. I have to say I was highly surprised the service was great my cousin and I sat at the bar and the bar tender really was nice and helped us walk through the menu. I got the fish and chips which was great. I did wish the coleslaw was a little more vinegary but, overall was nice.
what an amazing restaurant! the staff was friendly and attentive. the food was great. we will be back again!Food: 5/5
The food was PERFECT. My family came here from San Antonio, Texas. The portions for all our meals were perfect. Whoever the cook was today was spot on for what we asked. How the food was presented was perfect as well. The drinks were perfect. I absolutely wish these guys were in my area. Thank you guys!
The food was perfect, the drinks were awesome. We had dinner salads, shared a hot brown, and the derby pie. Salads were very large/had bacon and that’s always a plus. The derby pie was warm and served with cold ice cream and everything I could ever dream of in a dessert. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. 4/5 for atmosphere because it is poorly lit in some areas, asked to move to a more well lit table and staff gladly allowed us to do so.
Crab cakes were delicious! Huge servings. So many things sounded good, it was hard to decide what to order.Food: 5/5
