Came here for a drink and ended up seeing the steaks being delivered to other tables and my boyfriend and I both agreed we had to have one and we are so glad we did!! We've been to some of the best steakhouses around and Bobby Van's is now our favorite! The Sirloin was seasoned to perfection and melted in my mouth! The ambiance was lovely as well, I really enjoyed sitting at the bar and facing the window to enjoy the NYC scenery and people watching of course. The bartender Tez took great care of us and makes a fine bloody Mary. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Josh, as well and he made us feel extremely welcome and appreciated. I'm a fan for life and will definitely be back on our future NYC trips!
Honestly the best ribeye and French onion soup have had here in the city. Absolutely mouth watering. Listen, the food, drinks, and customer service here tonight was top tier! I have never had a dining experience like this! The manager, waiter, and kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was the best! Everyone was nice and welcoming! The chef and his team did their thing with our food! My sister, daughter, and myself are visiting from Atlanta and can not wait to come back to Bobby Van’s! This is my new favorite restaurant in the big apple! Keep up the amazing job guys! Everything was exceptional!
Food was cold. That was the main course and sides. Took forever in a half empty restaurant. I ate 40 minutes after my family. The manager was rude and would not provide his name, so I took a picture of him, while he was flailing around. I caution everyone to vote NO on this restaurant. Your health is important. Frankly, The NYC health department needs to summons them for poor food handling. I plan on reporting them. Funny thing, I did not see a health certificate displayed. I wonder why. Perhaps my error or !!!!
We snagged a 4:45 reservation as our pre-show stop. The waiter was amazing, the service was some of the most efficient and fast we've ever seen. The gnocchi was the best I've ever had. The lamb with mint jelly was phenomenal, the steaks and sauce they give you are next level. The sauce.... that's it. You'll need to ask them for a bottle to take home, it just elevates the meat. Such an amazing dinner and deserts with drinks too, they asked when our show was and seemed to get everyone in and out quickly but not rushing anyone. Service was so friendly, I wish I grabbed his name but everyone we encountered was great. I think this is a MUST eat in the city.
It ended up being a horrible experience! The waiter brought the POS for payment, I paid using Apple Pay and the waiter quickly pressed on my behalf the tip amount. I was fuming and asked him to go and issue a refund for the tip as it’s not legal to approve the payment on my behalf. He came back with the receipt showing tip $0. The transaction went through on my CC WITH tip 24%. I have submitted claim with my credit card company as I have proof…. Likely the waiter thought we were tourists given the area….. horrible horrible experience! Stay away from this place!
Had a holiday dinner with close friends last night. Service started off very poorly. Waiter very ambivalent, clearly didn't want to be there. Extremely slow response time, often having to ask him multiple times for the same items. Meal delivery was very long time in coming. Two steak entrée's served over-cooked and cold. Vegetables came out cold. Creamed spinach cold and lumpy. Returned the two steaks, waited another 25 minutes and requested to just cancel the steaks which was met with the promise of just a couple more minutes to wait. Manager's disposition during the entire event was hostile at best and refused to make adjustment to the bill. The table next to us experienced the same set of service and food quality problems but at least they managed an entrée adjustment. When told we would never return the manager's response: "fine by me". We will never return to this restaurant and strongly encourage you to reconsider your choice for dining when in the Times Square area.
Saw amazing reviews and decided to give it a try with my girlfriend. I had high expectations but was let down by a turtle looking server who kept creeping my girlfriend out until we were forced to leaveas it was clear he was trying to do more then just serve us our food and drinks. Don't come here unless the bald server is let go. The only reason i tipped normal was due to the hard work of the rest of the staff.
I was surprised by the amount of hostility that was directed towards the bartender from management. We were made aware that we could not stay long due to a last minute private party. Management continually harassed the bartender to clear her checks and spoke as if we and other patrons were not present. I was very shocked, disappointed, and outraged by this behavior. The bartender was incredible, attentive, and apologetic for needing us to leave on such short notice. Nice place, incredibly rude management.
Avoid. Ghetto is how i would describe it. NOT what you expect from a steakhouse. Unprofessional service. No one spoke clear english. Go to Park Avenue location for class of service & atmosphere. Food was average at best. Steak was not prime steak. Filet Mignon was fatty.
