Great store owned by local Philadelphians. Great service and they give you discounts if you dance at some of the many studios in Philadelphia.
Had an awesome experience at this store today. My friend and I had our daughters fitted for dance shoes and the gentlemen helping us was very knowledgable and helpful getting our two toddlers fitted. He helped us to find everything we would need for our first day of dance classes. I definitely prefer to shop local compared to shopping with big box stores and Dancewear on Broad had pricing better than Amazon to my surprise. I would 100% recommend you stop in here before ordering online.
So for now I will have to give this place one star due to the customer service I just received over the phone. They may have everything my child will need for her dance class but the professionalism via phone was horrible. I felt rushed off the phone and it felt as though I was bothering her with my questions. One should be careful on how they speak to their customers because it can result in reviews like this. Although you have a 4.7 rating by you being rude, it could take you all the way down. Just a tip, you never know with whom you are speaking to over the phone. I could have been the Mayors assistant shopping for his granddaughter. You never know. Please treat your phone customers with a bit more respect. I will be in to visit the store very soon and I pray that my in store experience is better than the phone.
Best dance store in Philadelphia, huge selection of dance shoes for ballet, tap, jazz and pretty much everything! They also do pointe shoe fittings. Very friendly and knowledgeable on dance wear products and styles, as owners are both dance professionals. They will even ship if we can't make the drive into the city.
No star!!!!! I am not recommend anyone to shopping in this store, even I have appointment for my child point shoes, the lady who assist me was so rude. Because of I am asking my daughter how she feel about the shoe that she try on and that lady madly look at me and asked me, are you professional dancer ? Do you even know anything about point shoes? So rude, Because of I am Asian and she thought I deserve to be treated like that. I am piss and very mad walk out the store without point shoe for my daughter. For better business they need to working on customer service. I am rather to drive far to get ballet shoes for my daughter.
Just left the store, immediately felt unwelcome because we showed up 10 minutes before opening unaware it opened at 12 on a Friday. We would have offered to wait but she told me to come in, asked what I wanted, and to sit in the back. No "hi" or "how are you." She asked me what size I was and said to not even take off my shoes because she has to see if we carry my size because it's on the larger end. She brought out a pair for me to try on and I stated I wanted split sole and a t strap. She than was very passive aggressive and said twice "you need to let me know before hand specifically everything" when she gave me no time to and didn't ask me what kind of shoe I wanted she only asked my size and Immediately went to the back. She than said that she didn't have the style I wanted in my size and that I since it wasn't an emergency where I needed it right away she wasn't going to pay for rush shipping no even though I stated "I would prefer to have it on Tuesday." She said that she was going to worry about ordering other things for her store first over a customer specifically requesting an item. Ended up walking out without giving my number or taking a card. Never coming here again, go somewhere else if you want to be treated like a human being.
If I can give zero stars to this place, I would. I had called a few days ago for Latin dance shoes, I was told by the person who answered the phone that my size wasn’t in stock and there would be a shipment arriving in on Wednesday and that I could call in the afternoon as she told me there was no point going in if the shipment hasn’t arrived. I called today, Wednesday and identified myself as the one who called a few days ago. She told me the shipment is not in. So I asked if it was coming in and she said if it is not in today it should be arriving soon. Then she asked again what I was looking for and she went on to state something along the lines of not calling her to bother her. I told her that she is very rude and I will need to look for my shoes elsewhere. My guess is, this person does not like being there to open the store or she just does not like her work. If she is the owner, what a shame! I was previously a huge fan of this place perhaps due to better staff at that time. Not anymore. Good luck to the business.
Only dance store in the city. Can you believe it? Lady that worked there was super knowledgeable and friendly. She even tried a pair of shoes on herself for me being as though she was the same size as my daughter, who wasn't there at the time of purchase. I'm so grateful for this store and it's staff. Thank you.
Great experience! I called and spoke to Will for men’s dance shoes. He ordered an array of sizes for me. Shipping was delayed but Will called and let me know. Then a couple days later Julia called and said the order arrived. I stopped by and what a great team they made. Friendly, personable and very helpful! Julia helped with fit and function and I left very happy!! Absolutely recommend them to everyone!! Thank you Will & Julia!
Julia was absolutely amazing with my daughter! She fitted her foot perfect for tap shoes quality dance wear ! Soo worth going in and supporting her
