Body Quirks has been an amazing place for me many years. I started coming here with a frozen shoulder. Could hardly move my arms and was not able to do lots of exercises. Using the Whole Body Vibration machines really helped speed up my recovery. I feel stronger, sleep better, feel saner and in general do well with using WBV. In and out in about twenty minutes is great. It fits in the busiest schedule. Tara, Esther and Meldoy are very knowledgeable, helpful and patient in helping with the various exercises and stretches one can do on the machines. I highly recommend you come and try it.
If you are looking for healing, if you are looking for community, if you are looking for joy and laughter - get yourself to BodyQuirks! I have been a client of Tara's for almost 10 years now, and I can attest to the holistic healing I have received. I have changed tremendously in that time, and feel healthier - both physically and mentally. There is no doubt in my mind that BodyQuirks has helped me achieve that - Tara and Esther are incredible healers. Everyone is welcome, everyone is loved!
I LOVE BODYQUIRKS! I was introduced to Whole Body Vibration by Esther and Tara, and it has made a huge difference in my whole family's health. The studio is friendly and welcoming, the massages are the best I've ever had, and the WBV adds to stability with Parkinson's and general health. Thank you BodyQuirks!
If I could put 10 stars on this review of Bodyquirks instead of 5, I would do it in a minute. The combination of using the all body vibration machines and regular massage not only prepared me and got me through knee replacement surgery, but continues to keep my body pain free and healthy in the two and ½ years since. The support and friendliness of the staff, the quality of the machines and massage, and the way my time at Bodyquirks makes me feel is truly worth the time and money. I wouldn’t miss my regular attendance there for anything. “Try it. You will like it!” Lois Shenker
Bodyquirks has helped me so much with arthritis pain and aging muscles. The first thing I notice is some euphoria after just 20-30 minutes. My friend Bob loved it so much that he bought one of the vibration machines and uses it at his home. The place is open, soothing and welcoming. I highly recommend it and plan to get there more often. Wishing all good health.
I was a bit intimidated by the vibration machines at first since I really didn't know what to expect and it was beyond a typical 'health club' offering. The machines can be dialed up or down to suit any taste or condition, and the women there are happy to help you get comfortable. If the knees are straight it is one sensory experience vs. bent, so experimentation is a great idea too. I found that using them leads to an energizing feeling, and the conditioning is great too. You can also do exercises on them, including seated ones, so again, experiment! There are other offerings at Body Quirks, including healing massage, infrared sauna, and others, so check it out--it's a local neighborhood venture with a lot to offer.
Whole-body Vibration is a wonderful, lesser-known technology for healing and maintaining your body; in fact, it is nearly a panacea for physical pain, and discomfort. In ten months of very spotty spotty usage, I have noticed a very dramatic improvement in an achy hip joint. Members of this studio, who attend regularly insert sound of me, kicking my own butt..., INVARIABLY tell me about the pain they have discarded, and/or the strength they have gained! Just the other day, I started usingthe BodyQuirks "Sonic" WBV machines, and - I have to tell you - I can feel every cell of my body "singing" with delight! A second - though not "secondary" - benefit of using the WBV machines, at BodyQuirks, is the ease of getting a safe, and effective workout into my busy day, as any exercise I undertake, on the machines, is much more challenging to my muscles. Of course, I am neither a scientist, nor a doctor, nor a coach, so I can only encourage you to stop by BodyQuirks, and talk to Tara, Esther, or Melody about a free tour intruduction to Whole Body Vibration. These three ladies have created a safe, welcoming, encouraging space, in which to heal, and/ or improve your physical health. Also; do not overlook the possibilities of a synergystic boost to your health, as BodyQuirks offers expert massage, nutritional guidance and a far-infrared sauna, to rapidly take your body to a place of grounding, healing and better functioning!
Full body vibrations are an amazing technology that helps physically on many levels plus it makes me feel good physically. Combine that with the amazing people who own and operate BodyQuirks as well as those who workout there, you have amazing environment for physical and mental health. I highly recommend BodyQuirks!
Body Quirks is a whole health wellness opportunity. We are so lucky to have it here in Portland and not too far from home. Not only did I get the physical help I needed from the machines and expert massage, I was given heartfelt emotional support. I have recommended them to my friends and family. We need more BQ’s in the world. Thank you Nicola Dino RN
Bodyquirks is a pretty incredible place—it's my go-to for keeping my body feeling healthy, speeding up recovery from a cold!, and re-"centering" myself. Before Bodyquirks, I had never done Whole Body Vibration WBV, but it's been extremely helpful for me. I'm a software engineer, and despite an ergonomic setup and best intentions, the job is quite static. Especially when I get absorbed in a problem and forget to move my body for hours on end, things can freeze up. WBV loosens me up and helps reset my posture—there's this immediate effect of realizing I'm standing up tall after stepping off of the machine. There's also this effect of snapping my mind back into my head... just a feeling of being more aware/conscious/in-the-moment what I meant by re-"centering". I've suffered chronic headaches migraine and tension for most of my life; long-story-short, WBV now plays a big role in keeping me nearly headache-free! The great thing is that it's not just a palliative remedy, because it helps you build strength, and that strength can help you support your body better preventing further/other problems. It's basically a really easy way to exercise, that you don't need to already be in good shape for. It's not time consuming, either—I spend about 15 minutes shaking on each visit. I love the Far-Infrared Sauna, too. You don't get that difficult-to-breathe feeling like conventional saunas, and you can start the temperature lower and ramp it up at your own pace. Using the sauna in general feels great, but I recently discovered that using the sauna while sick helps speed up recovery for me. As others have written, the atmosphere is friendly, calm, supportive, it doesn't feel like a gym/health club phew, and the owners Esther and Tara indeed know a *lot* about the body and are extremely helpful. I'm so grateful for BQ and I just can't recommend the place highly enough.
