I was out of town visiting and decided to go to a morning yoga class with a friend. They were having an introductory first time class promotion of $10 each so we decided to try it. 15 minutes after the class was supposed to start a staff member walked in saying the class was cancelled. So obviously wanted to get a refund on my credit card. The girl working in front says we can not refund your cc but we can credit you $20 towards your next class. I pointed out that I dont live here and will not be coming back. She said that's our policy and said the manager will get in touch. Long story short.. Several months have passed and still have not heard from anyone. Awful management and no way to run a business!
I joined this gym for the convenience of location but was disappointed by their business practices. They never laid out in full their charging plan. I had hoped to pay month per month which means you have to pay for all the months you're not using they gym. You cannot down grade for unlimited classes once you buy the class membership and it seems that all their sales tactics are tying to extract $800 from you at the beginning. The front desk staff is rude and unwilling to explain everything in full which I consider poor business. The gym is not work an $800 membership with cramped space, bad equipment, and very outdated locker rooms. DONT use this gym unless you want to throw your money down the drain.
I've been a member here for a year. While it's convenient for me, the equipment is super old and breaks frequently and is rarely repaired. At least 1 of the 6 treadmills is always broken and every-time I bring it up to someone at reception they either pretend not to know about it or essentially imply the management knows but doesn't really care. I hope, as this neighborhood changes, other gyms with more responsive management will move in.
It's an ok gym if you live in neighborhood, but, it's a bit expensive if you're on a budget. The gym is old and the machines break often. The space is small, in gym standards. The classes are good, especially the cycling classes. Staff is so so. If you are a person that has difficulty walking or climbing stairs, This is not the gym for you. It's a walk up to gym and a walkup to get to the space for classes. So not wheelchair accessible.
I have been going to body strength for over 10 years. What makes this my gym over others is the home vibe that it gives. It is small and quirky in its own unique way. It has all the basic equipment needed for most workouts. They have been changing equipment over the years and I hope they continue to do so. The staff is always personable and friendly.
I really like this gym because it is convenient for me, the staff are friendly and the class card makes attendance flexible. I'm not really a gym machine user, so it's great that I can buy the class card without having to pay for the gym membership as well. I especially enjoy the pilates and advanced pilates classes with Jeanette her classes are really popular, so it pays to get there a little early!. I also enjoy the body sculpt class with Toni, where I definitely work up a sweat. It's great that Body Strength provides mats and other equipment to use in the classes. The equipment seems clean and it's in reasonably good condition. The classroom is almost always at a comfortable temperature.
Terrific place. You can buy groups of classes that you can use at Life in Motion Yoga and BodyStrength Fitness without having to purchase gym membership. Excellent teachers; subs, when needed, all very good. Something for all levels. Simple amenities. If you want a gym with thudding music where what you wear is the most important part of your workout, there are other places to go to.
I signed up for a year membership and cancelled two months early and got permission from the club to leave. They have continued to charge for 4 months even after The year ended. I called countless times to speak with the manager and each time they never call me back. There's better gyms in the city and most won't steal from you. Stay clear of this place!!
I have taken classes here on and off over the last few years, mostly during the cold winter months. Living in the neighborhood, it is a great place to get a workout nearby. The new Wednesday night and Saturday night spin instructor, Emily has been amazing. Her classes are fast-paced, great workouts, and her attitude is great. Definitely some of the best spin classes I have ever been too. Highly recommend.
Staff is rude and giggles or do whispering at the back of you. Floor is filthy and always piled with hairs or dusts. Strange smell and no clothes hangers. Staff yells at you when you make noise out of weights. You have to clean and make the weights return for sure. Space is so crammed and crowded so that you have to wait until other people finish their set to go from point A to point B. Worst part is, they will NEVER provide you any written agreements. Matthew eats his words all the time and this business entity will NEVER cancel your membership and FOREVER charge to your account. I even got a call after two years and they told me I have balance there. Run-down facility with unorganized customer management drives this gym into horrible service and provides nightmare experience for those innocent people who believed what they advertised. Because of these constant failures, staffs change is frequent and they have no interest in the quality service. Please don’t start your nightmare. If you really have to, do not use any credit card or bank information.
