Kenny rented me a speaker for 4th of July weekend for a party I was throwing. When I started to set it up the wrong cord was in the case. Honest mistake. The reason I recommend Boston Audio Rentals is that Kenny handled this situation admirably. He found a close Guitar Center, called ahead and put the correct part on reservation. Actually he even offered to drive the equipment 1 hour to me if I wanted. The whole issue was solved in

As a newbie host of house concerts, I found Sunny & Kenny's professionalism and experience so helpful. They spec'ed what I needed. Pick-up & drop-off was super-smooth I'm definitely a repeat customer

I was hosting an event and realized my AV equipment was faulty. I contacted Sunny at Boston Audio Rentals and THEY SAVED THE DAY. I had an hour and a half before guests arrived and was "freaking out" The Boston Audio Rental team was able to travel across the city with the equipment and had it set up with time to spare. The three men that I interacted with could not have been more helpful and professional. Hugh thumbs up! Without a doubt I will always go to Boston Audio Rental for all future equipment needs.

Having personally worked for B.A.R I can attest to their disorganization and shady business practices. I'm writing this review to warn other technicians that are considering working for this company, not as a review of their services. They will suggest a by gig rate that is a flat $50 compensation for any load in, drop off, pick up, or load out. It does not matter if you drop off by yourself and spend 5 hours loading in, you will receive $50. When working an event, they will tell you to wait until you are done working to see how many hours you worked, and then pay you whatever they feel like. I was paid $150 for more than a 12 and a half hour shift; a full $43.75 less than I would've received working the same shift for PSAV. PSAV is a huge conglomerate A/V company known for paying technicians the lowest wage. I have showed up expecting a $250 check and got a $55 check with no mention beforehand (I live an hour and a half away). Their reasoning for this was that I didn't pick up equipment from a gig I did, so I wasn't being paid for it. They booked me for one day (a Saturday) and because the pick up was next day, assumed I would be doing it (having not mentioned this to me at all, in fact I didn't even know the pick up was next day when I was booked). The owner said that I lacked common sense to know that I needed to pick it up. As many free lancers can empathize working for many different companies and keeping their different policies straight is tough. It becomes tougher when company's such as this do not actually book you on the days they want you to work. I could not pick up the equipment because I had been booked by other companies. Despite being upfront with this company that I work on a first come first serve basis they seem to either forget, or not care. I am still waiting to be paid $166 by them which I will be lucky to see $60 of. I have been going back and forth with them for at least three weeks trying to get the money I'm owed. Again this review is meant as a warning so that you do not face the same issues I did. I could continue for pages about the rudeness and unprofessional manner in which the owner acts, and I expect they cycle through technicians quickly.
