The sourdough bread here is attractive. The clam chowder and bread were also delicious. The new menu, salad, is rather large. On the other hand, the breakfast menu is very small.

I tried the sourdough pizza for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! We also had the California veggie sandwich and tomato soup. The soup was not very tangy like at some of the other places. Overall, it was a good experience and will visit again soon.

The service here on weeknights has been consistently poor. The latest time takes the cake when there is only a single order up on the pass, which is obviously ours since no one else was there, but the three workers have to talk about their vacation or something. When we asked if the order was ready we were impatiently told to wait and that the order wasn’t ready yet. Then after five minutes they take the completely untouched bagged order and hand it to us. It’s a shame since my kids love clam chowder and we’ve probably just gotten unlucky every single time we came given all the other good reviews.

Visited the Sunnyvale store today with my wife. She ordered a chicken salad sandwich and I ordered a turkey and cranberry sandwich. For some reason when the order was delivered to our table, the the turkey and cranberry was delivered as a soup and salad rather than any kind of sandwich. I looked back at the receipt and I had indeed ordered correctly, and asked the staff to correct the order. When they finally did deliver it right, I picked up the sandwich off of the plate to take the first bite -- and the plate's food surface had a 2-inch diameter 1/8 inch thick splotch of crusted cheese that looked like it had been baked on in their dishwasher. Yuck! I will not be returning to that store.

Clean restaurant with great food that is ways hot and fresh. Great variety, there is something for even the pickiest of eaters. Lynna is our favorite employee at this location! Always friendly and helpful

I’ve lived down the street from this place my entire life and truth be told I hadn’t visited before last week, but it was a really nice experience! The restaurant is pretty nice and renovated inside, very chic and modern but still a cozy feel - pretty similar to a Panera. I like the menu selections they have, I would argue that the fare is a bit on the pricier side for what you get, also considering that you have to order at the counter yourself and there isn’t really a wait staff again, Panera. But all in all I had a really tasty clam chowder sourdough bread bowl; I can eat quite a bit of food at a time and it was still filling so that’s a plus. I would recommend coming by for a visit!

Dear Office of the CEO of Boudin Bakery -- Daniel Giraudo, I want to recognize the beyond-the-call-of-duty Supervisor in your Sunnyvale, CA restaurant: Shawna. In my recent trip a couple of weeks earlier to your Sunnyvale restaurant, I was about to redeem my monthly bread reward under your Loyalty Program. It was around 8:00pm at that time. Shawna told me to save my monthly reward, and redeem another time. Her passion for her job, her kind consideration of her staff, and her love of the customer overwhelmed me. I wanted to get her name to thank her online at Boudin's website, but only remembered when I went back again last week. I asked Shawna for her name; she said that my thinking of her made her joyous and that was more than she could ask for. But that was not enough for me. I felt so compelled to write to you to let you know that Shawna is a wonderful person, and really cares about her team and the community. It was around 8:45pm, and the store was about to close soon. She was giving away some unsold bread for free to the remaining customers and to homeless who would wonder by. She is just terrific, and a phenomenal example of the love and kindness we need more of in our world today. Thank you for your incredible history in California to provide the great bakery service that is Boudin, and thank you greatly for employing leaders like Shawna. Have Always enjoyed their sourdough bread! So Yummy! Good service is always a plus. And the chowder is Always tasty!

I got the Cobb Salad. It was good, except I would have liked additional choices of dressing. They only offer two.
