Brakes Plus

I went to this Brakes Plus a few months ago needing a wheel alignment after getting 4 new tires on my 2011 Subaru Forester which only has 52K miles. This vehicle is driven by my mother who got the car from me 3yrs ago and she drives about 1000/miles per year. I fully have been diligent about servicing this vehicle. Discount Tire recommended Brakes Plus and provided a discount coupon. I also needed an oil change at the time, which Brakes Plus did at the appointment. I was called after my appointment that they could not do the wheel appointment as I needed a new rack and pinion system and some other work due to sludge in the areas of the vehicle needing repairs. The total cost with the discount would be $4000. I took the vehicle to my trusted local mechanic who inspected everything 2weeks after I this appointment and said that my car, only had $52K miles, did not need any of the repairs noted on the invoice, just the tire alignment which was completed without any issues. Yesterday, I brought the car back to my mechanics because of smoke and believing smell coming from under the hood. He stated that the cause of the issue was oil had spilled onto parts of the engine, likely during the Brakes Plus oil change, which needed to be cleaned up by washing under the hood. My fear this could have caused an engine fire. My recommendation is firstly, DO NOT go to BRAKES PLUS, they likely scam customers to get work done by them which is not needed. Secondly, I question the quality of their ability to do a oil change. Thirdly, if additional work is needed/recommended, get a second opinion.Services: Wheel alignment

I had the best experience here about a month ago! The front manager provided me with the best customer care! She knew her stuff and explained my car issues to me in a manner that was clear and educated. I really enjoyed doing business with them as a result of her expertise and thorough manner. I will definitely be back! Great job!

I had some issues with my fuel filter and fuel pump and had the repairs done here same day. I greatly appreciate all the help that the team was able to provide. From two employees helping push my then broken car over to the garage to the top notch service from Mike and Jacob, they certainly made the experience as smooth as could be. I had a fantastic experience! I came in initially and for the “free brakes inspection” full well knowing I will probably need new brakes. As a woman who does not know cars super well, I often am hesitant when getting work on my car for fear of being treated unfairly or being taken advantage of. These guys are great! I had my brakes replaced and felt confident that the price was the best in town and the work is even better. Thanks to Jeremy, the man who did the labor, and Adam, who took care of me at checkout. I brought my car in for a tire alignment and asked for a general inspection of my shocks and struts; I was experiencing tire balding and some crackling noises when driving. I was informed that my shocks and struts were fine but other repairs needed to be made. The employees walked me through all of the suggested repairs and I opted to go through with them. The work was completed in an exceptionally timely manner. Adam was very insightful and extremely kind, which made the whole experience much less taxing than what I’ve experienced at other shops.Services: Wheel alignment

I had a wonderful experience here! I went in with the thought that I needed new brakes and the store manager Adam took the time to walk me through everything and explain the issues affecting each rotor and why it was feeling that way when I drove my car. He explained issues that would need to be addressed in the future but did not make me feel pressured to get them done at that visit. The work was done in a timely manner and everyone was very helpful.

Made an appointment to get my brake lights checked. Being that I had never been to this location before, I fully expected to wait at least 30 minutes or more for my car to be looked at. But I was incredibly impressed that they got me in and out within fifteen minutes. They told me that I just needed one new brake light which they easily replaced, and they didn't try to upsell me on any extra services! I will definitely be checking this place out again for future auto services.Service: Brakes

I have been with Brakes Plus for a LONG time and there are reasons for that. They are always efficient. They are great communicators. Bridget is a doll and has the best personality for the industry she's in. She's friendly, bubbly, happy, present, she's a good listener and she's the kind of person who makes you feel at ease: like you've known her forever. They are reasonably priced and have always helped me out when I've needed them. I will never go anywhere else for my car needs.

Visited on 15Oct22 for a headlight replacement on Ram 1500. Observed ~2-4 technicians at one time working on my vehicle seeing several attempts on pulling the light assembly out. After observing this requested the truck be buttoned up and I would move on. On 16Oct22 took vehicle to Iconic Auto Repair for the same work. Shop owner observed clip had been broken, 2. bracket bolts had been loosened not required for the actual work, and a mounting bolt had not been reinstalled when the assembly was put back together. The assembly had been left with just one mounting point for the assembly left in place. The work was completed at Iconic in a timely manner including slight repair to effects of work performed at this Brakes Plus location. I would not recommend this location for vehicle maintenance work. This is not reflective of all locations or the technicians that do good work, however, my experience and recommendation.Service: Auto maintenance

Absolutely, and I wholeheartedly mean it, avoid these big shops and brakes plus at all costs. It will save you $$$. They only want to steal your money for unnecessary repairs... Or have no clue about proper auto repair. Being a mechanic myself for 20 years, I brought my truck in for an alignment, with all new suspension components installed properly, and then 30 minutes later told me that they cannot align it because the wheel bearings needed to be replaced. Either they are completely incompetent, or have a malicious rip-off program happening. I downright declined and exited "shaking my head" at this ludicrous experience. I brought my truck to another shop and they told me I do not need wheel bearings and did perform an alignment. This experience you can find echoed in other reviews. This is common practice at many big shops and dealerships. And I've seen videos where customers mount cameras in the cars to document these things happening, if you don't believe me look it up for yourself, you can find them on YouTube. Absolutely repulsive and unsavory.
