Braving Doula Collective

I had a wonderful experience with the Braving Doula Collective. I met with Mac and Skylar and both were fantastic. Mac was my top choice as I am a transgender man and felt more comfortable with a masculine presence in the room. He was there for me every step of the way and I could really count on him. He was totally supportive even in my most painful and awkward moments and helped me through a non-epidural birth. We love Mac and I'm so grateful that this collective exists. Highly recommended.

We had such a great experience working with the team at Braving Doula Collective!! They were there to answer questions and coach us before and after we delivered. We had an amazing birthing experience and credit them in large part for that. They were great for both my husband and I! I would highly recommend working with them. I will for our next baby too!

Our experience with Braving Doula Collective is one that is hard to put into words. Both Mac and Skylar were incredible throughout not only during our birth, but also just as much during weeks leading up to the big day. Prior to meeting with Braving Doula, I was convinced that we didn't need any extra assistance. However, my husband felt strongly that the added support would be beneficial for both of us. I am SO happy that I listened to him because hiring Braving Doula was the best thing we could have ever done! Nothing about our birth went as planned. There were endless scary twists and turns, and we got limited information about what was going on from the doctors. The doula's were essential in helping us understand what was going on and emotionally guiding us along the whole way. They are not only fabulous doula's, but inspirational people. I would recommend them to anyone whether this is your first birth or 10th!

My husband and I were beyond pleased with the Braving Doula Collective! I loved having the experience and knowledge of several doulas for the price of one. We ended up working with Mac and Patience for our pre and postnatal appointments Skylar was out of town for my due date- but I met with her and she's lovely!. I especially appreciated Mac's philosophy around dad empowerment- which I really wanted for my husband as he was nervous about the whole thing labor, birth, baby!. Mac ended up being our guy for our little one's arrival and I was so happy for that. He helped me labor at home with such care, guidance, confidence and compassion before we headed to the birth center. There he worked amazingly with our midwife & team- coming up with ideas on how to help move baby along I was pushing for awhile! and also helping my husband guide me. Plus his massages were soooo helpful! When things took a turn, he was with us the whole way. Postpartum, Patience was my lactation savior! I was having trouble with my milk coming in, and her knowledge, personal experience, tips and tricks saved me during such a stressful time. Overall we highly recommend BDC!! Mac and Patience will always be a beautiful part of our birth story.

The amazing doulas, Skylar and Mac, were there for me and my husband when my water broke at 34 weeks and I had a preterm baby. Although I was not able to have the natural birth experience I had envisioned, it was still so wonderful to have the support of such empathetic and understanding people during and after my birth experience. It was also especially great having not just one doula, but a team to support our family. I would give them 6 stars if I could!

I’m so incredibly grateful for Braving Doula Collective! As first time parents, we were questioning every little decision and struggling to to find a groove. Although we had some help from family, we were getting all kinds of conflicting advice from eating to sleeping or lack of!. Melita went above and beyond for us and our babe. She was able to support us in making sound decisions by providing information/resources based on relevant and reliable research-all the while, respecting our values and beliefs around parenting. She helped me gain confidence in adapting to this new norm of parenthood, as well as gave me strategies for organization, activities to support our baby’s mental/social/emotional/physical health & growth, and ways of doing everyday life with a baby shopping, cleaning, doctor visits, bottle storage, organizing baby stuff, etc. Melita loved on us and encouraged us through struggles and self doubt AND, most importantly, she loved on our sweet baby as if she were her own. We may have hired Melita as a postpartum doula but she turned out to be SO much more to us than that-she is now considered family. Could not recommend more!

Mac and Skylar were exeptional to my wife and I. Right from the start we received very hospitable, friendly, service and I would highly recommend the Braving Soula collective.
