Breakaway Running

This place was so wonderful. The staff was very knowledgable and very helpful. The shoes were also well priced. I am so glad I went here to buy my new shoes.

Best running shoes store in Memphis TN. Thank you Dave for getting set up. Breakaway Running is the go to place for runners of any level. When it's time for a fitting I head to Breakaway first. A Memphis business you see involved with all kinds of running events and activities in the Memphis area.

I recently bought a bright red pair of Brooks running shorts and my first run in them was stronger and faster than my run before going to Breakaway! I saw immediate results after shopping at Breakaway! Cannot recommend this place enough.

I love when I go to break away because I can talk with the associates about shoes and what was changed in the design depending on the ones that were the same brand as I do which is the Hoka I love those shoes. Maybe in a size 15 is always hard to find my size unfortunately the first time I came in they did not have my size but luckily for the gentleman that was helping me informed me that they will come in on Tuesday and if they would give me a call all I would need to do is leave my information and the shoe I was interested in was wrote now and they would call me. Unfortunately I never get a call until the following day they had some delays with delivery but that’s fine. Once they did arrive I went and talk to another associate and even carried on with a nice conversation which is great getting to know your customer. That’s one thing I will say when they come to the customer service they’re great they try to find out what you need and make sure you test out the shoe as well as their policies on return our post it and they’ll let you know at the same time while checking it out. I also go to Fleet Feet because of their machine that measures your feet and sells you a whole computer diagram so between both of them they’re both A1 if you need to go to either one please do and I’m quite sure vice versa would be said for Breakaway Running!

I stopped into the store last week to buy a new pair of runners. As soon as I walked into the store Margaret greeted me, asked what I was looking for, and then brought out exactly the right thing for me to try. I described what I liked about the Altras I had been wearing previously and they knew exactly which pairs would meet my needs. This is exactly why I waited months to buy new shoes, just so I could return to Memphis for the "Breakaway experience". This team, selection and service are unmatched anywhere else!

All I really need yesterday was a pair of flip-flops so I didn't really need any help from staff. All I really saw was one basic pair, but I did witness the employees helping others and devoting time & attention to each customer which was extremely refreshing to see. The lady at checkout was very polite. Seeing how the customers were treated made me want to return there the next time I need a good comfortable pair of walking or running shoes. BTW the flip-flops I bought are so so comfortable & I Love them.

Jack was very helpful and patient while assisting me in finding a good pair of running shoes that would work for my training and my feet. He went above and beyond to make sure I knew my options and got the shoes that I wanted. Wonderful store!

There's not a better running store in the universe, and that's not hyperbole. Barry and Bryan have been taking care of the Memphis running community for decades. There's a good reason they have such a loyal customer base. They go out of their way to take care of you personally and the community as a whole. Whether it be taking the time to test out 7 pairs of shoes to get your fit right, hosting FREE training runs with routes and aid, bringing in coaches, weekly group runs, or Bryan running around town to drop off orders during the pandemic, they go above and beyond. I can't speak highly enough of this establishment, not just as a business, but an asset to the greater Memphis community. Also, Jackson, their mascot, is a very good boy.

I knew Breakaway had a great reputation but I was floored about just how amazing they were until I went in yesterday for a new pair of shoes. The current model of shoes I was running in was over 5 years old and Brian still knew immediately what they were and found me a perfect pair of shoes in another brand as a replacement.
