I had a great experience Saturday at the Briar Shoppe. Celebrating my birthday wanted to add a pipe to my collection. I had been looking online, but really wanted to talk pipes with someone. Austin, the Pipe and Tobacco Manager, along with his team, made me and my son feel welcomed. They were extremely patient, presented many options and help me choose my newest addition. I will now hopefully be a Briar Shoppe regular, despite the hour long drive. Thank you gentlemen. I will enjoy my new Savinelli Autograph!

Absolutely terrific. Huge selection of good tobacco for pipe and cigar smokers. Lots of good cigarettes too. Their home blends are terrific. The Detectives Blend is especially good.

In my opinion, this is a close #1 for best cigar lounge & tobbaccoist in the Houston area. It's not because it Houston's oldest cigar shop 54 years, began by a family of women 3 generations now-quality management & attentive knowledgeable employees, an excellent humidor w otherworldly pipe & cigar accessories, an amazing welcoming environment, a cadre of regulars that are just cool men of a certain age, lights out customer service & a prime location I haven't smoked w the group outside due to the brutal summer heat. It's because while others excel in one or two of these. The Briar Shoppe excels in them all, by no accident. It's that they repeatedly deliver on a relaxed, welcoming & inviting experience by providing all the things I've mentioned & a few I haven't. But, again in my opinion, they win by a nose, if not a clear margin. A few cons, parking isn't free Rice Village and can be often limited during some hours, they have only one tv still a great spot to watch sports and the restroom while nice is small & to the rear of the shop. I strongly & highly recommend them as a cigar lounge must visit: "you can check out any time you like, but can never leave" once you've experienced what they have to offer.

Such an inviting and friendly atmosphere! The owner is a complete gem and full of knowledge, suggestions, and feedback on all of her products/services. I think that it is awesome that this is a womens own & operated 3rd generation family business. So refreshing to see the face of a local tobacconist is female. They have one of the largest and exclusive lines of tobacco in Houston and Texas. Great place for the cigar enthusiasts, wedding gift planner, or just an 'I Love you" gift for the hubby.

Committed patron through the past decade and a half. Owners are just gems and the layout is superb. A must stop for the cigar/pipe/finer cigarette/snuff nasal/cheek. Pipe selection is breathtaking.

Couldn't be happier with this place. Quality product at a reasonable price with great service. They give you atmosphere, which is a dying trend that we cannot let go.

Best damn shop in Texas. Amazing selection of whatever you prefer in pipes, cigars, or cigarettes. Staff is always friendly and ready to help or give a recommendation- and you can smoke inside!!!!! Like what! Amazing place

Bill was very helpful and very knowledgeable about his products. I was purchasing a few cigars for my father for Christmas and he went above and beyond my expectations. He gift wrapped my purchase as well as provided me with the proper packaging to ship the cigars so they will stay in good condition. I highly recommend this shop they care about the small details and they make sure that their customers are happy.

A great selection of tobaccosI came in specially for loose pipe tobacco high quality pipes for sale, a large selection of cigars in their humidor, and every smoking accessory one might need. The staff are knowledgeable and were extremely helpful with picking out a few new blends. This is easily my favorite shop to come to for tobacco and I will be patronizing this company for the foreseeable future.
