We had a nice lunch here. They had some tasty beers on tap and some pretty good food. This place specializes in burgers and your typical bar food. The chicken sandwich I had was really good and I would order it again. The tots were fine. We hadn't really been back to this spot since they moved, but I happy with everything and will return.
Nice place to stop in with friends. They have a good selection of burgers and they are pretty good. The fries have a seasoning that is OK but not great. My daughter was not a fan of the mac and cheese. We also got the "Nachos" as an appetitizer. It's made with tater tots instead of chips, and there is no meat. I am a stickler for clean tasty water and it was top notch. Our server was great even though he was running around like crazy trying to attend all of his tables. We never felt ignored. I did think it was silly to watch him get drinks and refills for everyone while the guy at the bar did nothing but chat with people. Excellent service is a team effort. The bar tender isn't showing this at all. I am sure our server is going to drop from exhaustion.
Rated best burger in Ames. I honestly prefer the honey garlic chicken. Crispy sweet and delicious. Hidden gem, the Crab Rangoons and fries.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
Friendly welcome and good food. However, once we had finished our meal there was such a push and pressure to move us out despite there being no line or pressure for tables and it was no later than 8.30pm. We simply wanted to enjoy our drink, chat and watch the sports but the constant push both and actual and implied pressure to move us on totally ruined the whole experience and made us leave early - never felt so unwelcome by staff. It is a real shame as there is a lot going for the place but if staff persist in such behaviour why would any customers return? Parking: Free parking and plenty of spaces by the restaurant
One of the most disappointing meals I've had in awhile. Once ordered it took 15m for the food to be ready which is impressive. Once opening our food it was clear why. Ordered a Philly cheese steak that look like they tossed a few Kraft singles on. No peppers, 2 little pieces of onion and what I think was steak? Fries were cold, almost like they were transferred from an order that never got picked up. The wife's meal was just as disappointing. I usually get to clean up the wife's left overs but after only being able to eat half this "Philly cheese steak" and fries I was good. Tossed it in the trash and content with not coming back for a long time.
I hate having to change reviews but here I am doing it, this place is a Wallaby's imposter. The management randomly changes the size and price of dishes in the restaurant. I ordered the spinach dip with extra Naan bread what it usually 8-10 pieces of bread per order suddenly became 5 pieces and the price doubled. So I just went to wallaby's and that's where I will be going from now on. You lost a good customer and a good review.
The food quality here has definitely gone downhill since the move to the new building. The limited "GameDay menu" is a joke unless you are there for appetizers and to drink. Will not be back for a meal, maybe for a beer and some totchos.Food: 1/5
Brick City is generally pretty reliable if your looking for a good Burger Meal, especially if you can get in on a $8 any burger day used to be on Tuesdays. Only knock this last visit was that they brought out the appetizer with the main course, also slow on the drink refill... otherwise not bad....
Great food, great atmosphere! I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and cheddar cheese. The sandwich was made with precision. Delicious, juicy, but not messy at all. My compliments to the chef!
They know how to put out great food. I had to try the giant pretzel, and the description did not disappoint!! And the cheese sauce!! OMG!! The real deal!
