On the expensive side, but well worth it if you can afford it. Finding a daycare that set my mind at ease was a difficult task, but Bright Horizons at Plainview has a welcoming environment and was recommended by someone I trust. Now that my child is enrolled I recommend them as well if you can afford it.
I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful place. I’ve had two children as students here, and I never doubted the quality and compassion this place has for what they do. I was always clearly communicated with and the curriculum never included TVs, which I love. We will miss having our kids here!
Pros:Good curriculum, healthy food served to kids, large play areas, good Covid protocols, the director Miss Jenifer is very warm and helpful. Cons: Expensive, fixed drop off time. The incharge at the Preschool building is extremely rude and grumpy, won't shy away from insulting you if you drop your kid late. She would act like I was interrupting her break time or meeting time when I requested for late drop off. Parent Teacher interaction was minimum the time my kid was there.
We have been with bright horizons for five years. They are absolutely unmatched. My son attended both the nursery school, preschool, and now the summer camp, and my daughter currently attends preschool there. She has cerebral palsy but is intellectually typical, and the teachers are wonderful with her. They help her when needed but treat her like all the other kids. Fantastic extracurriculars and caring teachers.
My review is a little unconventional, as my daughter has never regretfully attended the Plainview School preschool program. However, I did enroll her in the Summer Explorations camp this year. It was amazing. There was never a dull moment in a good sense: more than a dozen of field trips, special guests, and various activities to keep children stimulated were balanced out by periods of quiet activity and outdoor play. As a parent, I had access to the classroom and was always welcome to call or stop by with my questions or concerns. Come next Summer, if nothing changes in our lives, I will probably enroll her again.
The staff is great to work with. The teachers are great, my kids loved going here. They learned Spanish, music, writing, yoga.......... I have a rotating work schedule, they worked with me. They constantly communicated with the parents, we had parent/teacher conferences. I would recommend this facility to anyone.
As a previous parent, this place is shady and the teachers are not trustworthy. Teachers play a lot of favoritism and are not nearly as professional as they make it seem. A newer teacher let a 1 year old fall off the changing table and just hours later, she was back working with the same group of one year olds towards the end of the day, risking all those children’s safety. I pulled my child out soon after. There were way too many incidents and high turnover rates with their employees. I’m unsure of who is hiring the administration but none of them seem to have any idea of what is going on, particularly Maddie, who is unprofessional and has a very poor attitude. Valerie is extremely phony but at least she tries.
Love the curriculum & updates throughout the day. The director, Ms. Jennifer, is so helpful. It’s very clear that she truly cares about the families and children which makes all the difference!
A wonderful child care facility providing multiple environments that is nestled in the beautiful neighborhood of Plainview. The staff is great and works well with parents and children on an individual basis. We will miss this place.
