Pretty campus in the springtime. Decent professors. Reasonable tuition. Disgusting bathrooms. Run down buildings. Horrible administration. This school made me depressed and there is noticeable criminal activity in the area. Don't transfer to this school, don't apply for this school. Don't attend this school. There are many improvements to be made and the school needs to put more money into repairing broken facilities. The library is quiet and is a good place to study. Cafeteria food is a little on the pricey side. Security guards can be rude and a majority of the faculty is highly disrespectful. Social life is at an all time low. And honestly things don't seem to be improving.

I really did not enjoy my first (Transfer student) year here AT ALL. I was in a private college before this (also private school my whole life) so maybe that was it? With the exception of the "pretty" outside of the campus, this school blows. None of my 10 professors ever got to know students personally, I think only 2 actually even had a PHD who instructed my class. The school is like an inferno all year around, I have PTSD thinking of their basement "cafeteria."' I have personally contemplated bashing my head through the plastic boundary at the student quad center or whatever that is a few times, financial aid people really don't care. Kids constantly rallying and complaining about the school conditions but I high-key feel like they love doing it because you know, this school is over the top white new-wave liberal kids who enjoy hearing themselves talk. Needless to say, I went back to my other school......

Love the campus love the professors. Look them up on ratemyprofessors beforehand and you'll never have a problem.

American Language Academy at Brooklyn College - Everyone talked to me about how cheap these English classes were but it was the worst experience of my life. First, almost all students are very low class. second in my first days walking to this institute there was a shooting because there is a great danger in terms of robbery and drugs. ask for the college official report of crimes and you will realize that if you respect your life, you will never walk in those parts. Besides, the classes were a joke. The only thing teachers did was fill out an activity book, but there was no communication and they spent their time watching the cell phone and eating. I needed a letter that I attended college there, and that I no longer attend there. I was told to email lavada Lawton, administrative assistant to the registrar. I emailed her 2 week ago March 6, 2018 didn’t get a response wish I never did. When I finally got in touch with her she was very nice in my emails I explained the purpose of the letter, and that I needed it ASAP! which we all know the meaning of! When I finally spoken to her on Thursday 3/15/18 she stated and I quote! “It will be sent by close of business Friday.” I thanked her. She stated to me she will fax it to the necessary person then send me a copy for my records, as I stated to her I wanted. The letter was never faxed that day. I emailed her to find out if it was issued on Friday, never received a response. On Monday 3/19/18 I left another email no response, so I called the registrar’s office I spoke to her at 11:45am once again, to tell her I needed this letter and how imperative it was that it be faxed. Once again “ I’ll fax it at 12 pm no I’ll fax it at 1pm” ok fine thank you! 1pm came and gone no fax no cc’d to me to let me know it was done which it wasn’t! So I called other departments to explain the situation. When I finally reached ms. Lawton again she went ballistic! Talking about she has anxiety, she stressed she don’t work on my time but on hers wouldn’t let me talk then hung up the phone! I called edu I was transferred to Monica Rivera assistant registrar I explained what happened while I was speaking to her lo and behold she emailed ms. Rivera to let her know she sent the fax. Ms. Lawton need to seek mental help! She gave me the wrong email to a Mildred Rivera not Monica Rivera, on the cover letter she put Tuesday date which is 3/20/18 yesterday was 3/19/18 to be sarcastic on the cover letter she wrote “ mean went through Okay” she had it circled like I’m dumb so she had to do that so I could understand . She also wrote like she spoke to me before 10 am which she didn’t. She was very unprofessional how she spoke to me on the phone, your in a business setting not at a game in an arena! Ms. Lawton needs some professional help I’m writing this cause I don’t want another person to go through what I had too! She also was sending me after all this someone else’s information name Rachel Lebovitch!! Everyone else I’ve spoken to were great very helpful! I want to thank everyone that was very understanding and helpful in this matter! I gotten a call from the registrar himself don’t remember his name but he apologized to me on what happened with ms Lawton , I thanked him, that’s a true gentleman took time out him busy schedule to give me a call!
