My partner just received a hair cut after coming here for the first time. It is quite possibly the worst mens cut I’ve seen. It looks like brandy accidentally slid the razor up into a literal bald triangle at each of his temples. He is completely missing a large triangle of hair on each side. It makes him look balding, even though he has a completely straight hair line. We can’t fix this and just have to wait until it grows back and have him part his hair in the middle? I have no idea how to fix this. I’m completely disappointed and will never be returning. This is an unfixable mistake.
Love miss Brandy, she did a great job with my little man who hasn't wanted a hair cut in a year. We will be back.Service: Kids' cuts
This shop is a combination of barber shops of the past and hair stylists of today. The shop is popular with young and old. I don't have to make an appointment, but the popularity of the shop can make for some longer wait times on weekends. It gives me time to read a wide variety of magazines. I use the same barber, and we enjoy some small talk as he cuts. This is the only place I trust to cut my hair.
Good haircut, but they only take cash or check. I understand your main customer base are boomers who only ever use those but you need to get with the modern age. $22 for a haircut is already annoying but having to go down the street to an ATM because you don't have either a card reader or an ATM is ridiculous. Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
Decent little walk in barber shop. Looked like they had seven or eight chairs. I went in right before Thanksgiving with the desire for my usual high skin fade and finger length top scissor trim. My barber seemed scared to go down to skin like I preferred. Usually I find this if they aren't confident in their blending capabilities I didn't even mess with asking to have the beard lined up as I knew it was going to be unsatisfactory. Cash only establishment which was annoying, thankfully CVS next door has an ATM. I'll probably stick with my normal spot from now on. I just wasn't overly impressed. A place like that has some major possibilities to bust out some pretty stellar cuts, but the one that handled me lacked the confidence or skill... maybe both.
I was in and out quick but not happy with the price considering they don’t wash or put any product in your hair.
I have been coming here for 16 years now, and plan to for the next. Great staff, prices, and quality!
Best barber shop in KC! No frills, very friendly staff and excellent service for a great price. Hardly ever have to wait long, but if I do during peak hours it's totally worth the wait — they get it right every time. Definitely recommend giving them a shot! *Cash Only
I have been going to this Barber Shop for awhile now and it is a great place with great conversation. Tim Childers has cut my hair every time and is now cutting my two year sons hair. Tim has done amazing work and always has new ideas on how I could style my hair and my sons hair. Tim as do the other Barbers have away of just making you feel like your family. I drive thirty minutes to have Tim cut my hair and to enjoy the Brookside Barber Shop Experience. Thank you to all the Barbers especially Tim!!! Signed, Customer for life
